Ok guys, im getting tired of drinking a protein shake before and after every workout.. My question is, would 40g of protein from all natural beef jerky and 34g of carbs from gatorade be okay after my workout.. Do I need to up the carbs? I'm trying to bulk up right now.. I drink a protein shake and some nanovapor before the workout.. Any help would be appreciated..

No.

Gatorade is complete shit. The sugar in it isn't even real sugar, its HFCS. Don't drink it.

Beef Jerky protein will not digest as fast as whey protein and the quality will not be as high.

If you're trying to bulk you need way, way more than 34 g of carbs postworkout. I eat 250-300 g carbs after a hard lifting session.

Thanks for the info... So what would you suggest for a post-workout shake?? Im on the road for about 13 hours a day so I only have about 3 hours once I get home..(work 70-80 hours a week) So unfortunately I have to rely on shakes... My girl would be pissed if I got home and started cooking everyday cause she doesnt complain about me hitting the gym 5 days a week..

That's fine, I rely a lot on shakes too for my protein source. I would drink 40-50 g protein every 2-3 hours depending on your size and metabolism. For post workout, I would look for a sugar source that is dextrose or glucose. It will give a large insulin response, which is good after lifting. Have at least 80-100 g.

you must be extremely carb tolerant like i am. some people do not need any more than half that amount.

i drink mountain dew sometimes post w/o and it works great. for protein try the iso pure bottles either orange or apple flavor, they are zero carb but not a bad whey.
