Bastard Zone Diet

STEP OFF is correct, drastic cutting of calories will lead to a rapid reduction in yoru metabolic rate. Your body may very well be in a startvation mode. Also, the expanding waist could be due to your constipation. Those bars are too bad, nothing like 26 grams of sugar first thing in the morning to keep one lean. Drop the bars.

Seriously man, I'm noy trying to start something. I just want to learn about the physics of it all. I want to know why things are the way they are. i'm not trying to argue at all.

Step Off - I went on the zone diet because i was pretty tired of the low carb thing. The main thing for me is overall heathly.
 
whole foods are better then candy bars....look at what else is in the bars.

Sorry, I was a little wasted last night (like that was a good idea ;) ). I get my words confused :p.

What about studies that show that people who lose weight and get in shape with the help of meal replacements are more likely to stay in shape better, and longer than those who don't? Reason being, people can get decent nutrition easily and its easier to "Stay on the bandwagon" because you know what you can eat. It makes it easy.

Hell, if I could pop 5 pills a day and never eat, I'd take it ;)
 
I still say a piece of meat is better than a protein shake or bar any day. If you can eat food instead of supplementing with bars or shakes, do it. That stuff is only for emergencies when you can't eat right.
 
Babydoc and I have had great success on The Zone.

The bars must be cut in half-
1/2 bar = 1 snack on The Zone

If you depend on a the whole bar for a meal you end up with too much fat and not enough protein to stay in the Zone.

And fiber will not constipate you- bloat yes but it is the mighty fiber that helps to keep everything "moving".

Watch your sodium intake canned veggies tend to be full of them.

Go to the store and buy some fiber that you can mix in your food and try that to help you poop!:mad:
