oh, i know all about them. i am a creepy motherfucker. i have scorpions and tarantulas and i used to have a few good collection of Hots, venomous, creatures. trap door spiders are my fave, btw.

Oh no, I'm posting this stuff as an FYI for peeps. These are common where I live i've found out but the further south you go the more common they are and the more dangerous. So if people see one of these they don't just dismiss it a just another spider.

I know what you are saying about them being pussies though.....I read an article where the spider was placed with diff insects and they are not very successful fighters which is why their venom is what it is....Hell in the article they got their asses kicked by some crickets!

Still any spider is no match for a shoe or the like, but they only need to bite ya once.

Hell, tarantulas look far worse than they are.....

Mojo - I'm so sorry to hear about lil Mojo's bite but I'm glad to hear he's going to be ok....


I worked with a woman who got bit once by a brown recluse - she showed me pics of the bite....looked like she got bit by a shark....nasty stuff....

Yup, the stuff is nasty, nastier than I had originally thought with my then limited knowledge of them.

The Vet is very confident as long as everything is "controlled" from this point on.

Yeah, it's the type of venom of recluses that starts necrosis very fast at the bite area (I believe they form necrotic 'rings' as the local necrosis progresses). How it effects the entire organism and can kill a person, I don't recall the details.

Recluses are a force to be reconed with.
