Hey I noticed on your training post that you said you rigged a pulley system to your power cage. Do you have any plans or good ideas as to how I can rig one up on mine? I can't afford 200 dollars for one. I don't think it should be too hard to rig up.
I am working on mine at the moment. Anything is possible and I will find a way. Do you have any pics of your power rack? You can probably get a welder to rig you one up easily though.
no pics of the cage man. It's the bodysolid basic unit (white in color)
I'm wantin a high/low pulley so I can do a lot of lifts on it. My dad and I are gonna go look at the ones they sell for 200 freakin dollars and I'm sure he can fix somethin up for me. I'm sure man...200 bucks for the dang thing.
My rack is a cheap Weider rack. I can't squat in it because once I stand up out of the j hooks...I only have an 8" area to squat in. Very crappy...very light weight...but it was $99 on ebay and came with a pulley set-up on each side at the top.
You saw mine on that thread...I just need a stronger hook and some more innovative thoughts. I still think that the safest thing is to have it welded.
Get a loading pin, go to Lowe's and buy a couple of pulleys, some coated cord, and some hook/clamps. It can easily be done man...it can. I would think that you can do it for 1/2 that or so...if you know a good welder.
Remember though...you MUST be safe when you train. I was lucky that my "rig" didn't get me hurt last Friday.
As luck would have it my trainin buddy just got a job at Lowe's so we're lookin at discount action when I go to buy the supplies. I don't think it'd be too hard to rig up and whenever I do it I'll let you know how I did it and how it turned out. I'm gonna build one where you plate load it...not the weight stack w/pin.
I've got some family that are master welders...they really know their stuff but I may bolt this on so I can break it down when I move out. That's the cool thing about the cage...it's bolted together so I can break it down too.
