Average Joe doesn't get 5x5?

thanks for the encouragement guys. I by no means though am ready to give up working out or anything, just find it frustrating, and somewhat interesting/funny. I'm looking forward to deads on thursday, so far its my favorite lift :). Squats are good too but I think they are TOO GOOD, I feel like I'm gonna puke my last meal and crap my pants after every rep.. but its sure a great feeling when I get home and make a shake and collapse and lie there for an hour watching TV mindlessly.
 
In some way, these people are trying to be helpful i guess.....even if it isn't what you want.

Everyone has their own methods. I see people and think why the hell are they doing that......yet they're much bigger than me......so they're obviously doing something right.

I generally keep to myself at the gym...... i don't bother with forced reps for the very reasons you outlined.
 
I never use a spotter... ever. An italian and jewish boy with prison tats from brooklyn sticks out her in south dakota like a sore thumb. I got 3/4 of the way up yesterday on 375 and then it came down on my chest. All these fucking jerkoffs come over like i need their help but I told them to keep their fucking hands away from me. I just rolled it a couple inches down on my stomach and sat up and then rolled it onto the bench. This is fairly normal and I haven had an injury yet from almost 10 years of lifting.
