Well, first, don't laugh... this idea came to me this morning while in the middle of a caffeine-fueled kick-ass cardio session. (just if you care to know: 45min straight at 85% MHR).

The thing is, I love reading and contributing in these forums... for those of you who read everyday, you know I am a little bit hooked on this thing, I think it is a great tool.

However, we do answer the same questions over and over again (seems we have a dysfunctional search button). So, since we will all be cutting for Summer, I thought: "why not make this in a way that we can have some fun and leave something for the new people", so the idea for the 1st (I hope ir's the first) "EF Cutting Competition: Cut that Shit" came to mind.

A Cutting competition??? you might ask yourself, "this ain't no stinkin BFL website"... I know I know... but wait until you see what I have thought of.

How to participate:

1. The competition begins on the 1st of April and will run for 12 straight weeks.
2. To Participate, you need to send me:
a. Picture of Before, shirtless, with a proof of date, which will be made known later on. (I will create a website with the stats and pics of each of us and later on the progress and diet, actually the diet will be a link to the forum and I will give the password to the website in the forum so that only Elite members can access the site and the diets)
b. Your stats: Weight in Lbs, Body Fat%
c. Your consent in participating in the award (I will explain later)
d. You need to post, in the thread that will be created for that your ENTIRE and DETAILED diet, training and cardio plan. WIth all details: Menues, macros, calories, TDEE, BMR, If you use any formula, the formulas you used. The works.
3. The minimum participant number per categorie (male or female) is 10 people. Otherwise it would not be interesting.
4. Every 4 weeks we will publish review pictures and stats
5. You can change your diet a maximum of 2 times (Your original plan plus 2 variations), but you have to explain why. People not participating on the competition, please refrain to comment on the diets. We will see the results later on.

What you will win, if you win:

1. Bragging rights
2. Your choice of up to 3 months of Platinum membership (up to 30 US$, depending on what Offer Spellwin has going on at the moment) which I will pay myself or if you don't want the membership...
3. ...The commitment from all the participants in your categorie to hit you with karma as much as they can during a month (I hope the mods don't ban me because of this, since this is not karma whoring: whoever wins this thing deserves that green. Besides, there is a certain rodent in the C&C forum I want to ask how to give karma everyday to people)

What you will win EVEN if you don't win:

1. A better body in 12 weeks, you DO want to be the hottie of the summer, right?
2. The added value of the competition feeling, the more serious you take this, the less you will want to cheat (all that people looking at your progress pics). You will not believe how much the competitive feeling can keep your fire stoked... it's like having 10.000 gym buddies.
3. The knowledge of what other people do (and the proof) to get diced.
4. That warm tingly feeling you did this all by yourself and you got great results.


What will the newbies win

A single thread with at least 10 different complete Cutting programs for boys and girls and the result people achieved with them, including details of the plans concerning diet, Training and cardio. A more comprehensive thread than that is hard to find. Hopefully if we do this right, it can be a nice sticky.

Rules (I came with the idea, so I get to create the rules... Damn, it's good to be me...)

1. No gear. Though I have nothing against gear (Hey, I am Venezuelan, ALL gear is legal there), most of our newbies are VERY overweight people or teenagers, or worse, overweight teenagers. The message I want to transmit to this people is that YOU TOO CAN DO THIS NATURALLY, AND THIS IS HOW. Gear is for people who is already fit and want to reach a peak, not for overweight newbies or teenies... so NO GEAR ALLOWED

2. The formula used to calculate who wins is: (Lbs fat lost - Lbs LBM Lost) / Orig Lbs Fat . As you can see, this formula:

a. Penalizes your LBM loses (I did this on purpose, no cutting diet where you loose all your hard gained LBM is a good one, this ruls out all starving diets, so if you plan to win ths thing based on the cabbage soup diet, think twice).

b. Also you will notice that this formula converts your fat lost as a % of your original fat content: Why this? simply because a pound of fat lost at 9% body fat is MUCH MORE difficult to loose than a pound lost at 25% body fat. I am trying to be fair and encourage people of all physiques to join.

(ideas for further rules are more than welcomed)

So that it is, right now, we have already 1 participant (me, because I will cut for 12 weeks very intensively in preparation for summer).

OK bros, we all have seen you know your shit and that you like to help people out, right? so this is the time to prove to yourself how good and dedicated you can be.

Questions? post them here. You know you will cut anyway, so why don't give this thing a shot, have some fun in the process and leave something for the newbies...

You have exactly 1 month to get your homework done, ask as many questions as you want and decide wether this thing is for you or not. Just remember, there is no late inscription, so come 1st April you are either in or out... i

PS. I don't do this for Karma, so if you think this is a GREAT idea, don't hit me with karma, save it for people who steer newbies in the right direction with the correct advice (oh yeah, and for the winner...)

I think it is a great idea and anyone who is serious about cutting should do it.

The photos and public knowledge alone should be able to drive your motivation! :)

I would do it, but cutting fat is not going to be my focus for the next few months. :baby2:
 
sounds like a great idea especially being able to see their diets and routines, lol but if I were to cut for 12 weeks starting in april, i would dissappear :)
 
I spoke with Radar, he is cool we keep our Competition here since it is All Natural and specifically targeted at cutting, so it makes sense in this Forum.

Daisy Girl and Coeus, you two are very fast... And don't dissapear!!! Daisy, if you are not cutting you are either maintaining or making that nice Assvatar of yours grow (OMG, did I just say that???), so that is always a good thing.

Coeus, you can bulk and depending how this go, you can always join a later edition.

Let's see who joins tomorrow once they have had a chance to read this... Damn all that people who have a life and don't spend all their time here!!!

I'm in!

I joined EF in January and currently on what I would like to call the Elite Trial and Error Program. I have a log in the Women's section. Basically, I'm tweaking my diet (all natural) to see what works and go the gym 6 days a week. So far so good, gaining muscle and losing lbs (10 so far). I have yet to have my bofy fat measured, but I'm sure that has gone down as well.

Anyway, keep us posted.

very good idea. Unfortunately, i have alreay began cutting, as well as i dont meet the criteria you have set forth in the rules.
 
I would love to join. I have my very first ever comp coming in June and this would be a great bonus to keep me on track!!!!

Thanks to Linzie for joining in... This goes to prove what we males knew all the while: Girls have more BALLS than us!!! (Pardon my French)... :-)

If you have started cutting already, not a problem at all (it will only make your chances of winning slimmer, since newbies can shed the most fat faster). The one rule that stays is NO GEAR (remember the example setting thing)

Take me for example, I started cutting, non-stop, 5.5 months ago and I am taking part in this thing.

Something I forgot to mention is that I would LOVE to see people joining in with:

1. All type of phisiques: I want to see fat, "normal" and "almost fit" people

2. I want to see all types of diets: Peanut Butter, CKD, Slim Fast (ouch), cabbage soup (double ouch), weight watchers (did I just typed that???), Fatkins, you name it... The more variety the more value this thing has.

Congrats to our courageous 2 female participants so far.

Hopefully they will understand why I think "the" rule it is an important one. Can't believe "Natty folks" are the minority...

Anyway, we'll see. There is a month for people to gather up the courage. I particularly think it would be fun to see how it goes...

I'd get in but I got a week at Disney world in may thats gonna be total debachery. Hopefully I'll have 4 abs when I get there and atleast 2 when I leave.
 
Might be in gonna take a vacation in 3 weeks so I have to cut a few pounds for that.. I might bulk up a little bit more then start cutting a few weeks later then everyone else? Ill figure it out soon

Man that sounds like a great idea. Can newbies participate too? I would love to do it just so that I would stay motivated. I would need alittle help in creating a cutting program though :(
 
So If anybody is willing and had the time to go over some general food, calorie intake, ratios and lifting routine with me in some personal messages count me in. I have been looking to cut for awhile now. im tubby:(
 
OK,, to answer a couple of questions:

people in so far:

men: about 4-5 (some are not sure)

women: 2

I have already made up my mind that I will go ahead with it, no matter what and no matter how many people decides to show up. If at the end we are 7 guys and 3 girls or whatever, we can just go ahead and have some motivation together.

For the newbies, the whole idea of this thing is to help you out, so you are MORE than welcomed. Don't PM people looking for advice (that kills the benefit for others). Start a thread and we will help you out with cals, ratios and training.

Might not be a bad idea to take a look at the calculator I posted some weeks ago to give you an estimate of what a complete program looks like.

I am working already on my program for those 12 weeks and it is going to be some serious ass-kicking stuff!!!! (just hope the weather helps and gets a little warmer here).

It is a great idea however I am currently in the middle of a bulk and probably won't be ready to cut until about June (or possibly later) because I am gaining very little body fat.

I know it was about the gear I was just trying to make a light hearted comment about it... I will repeat myself in that I have nothing against it though... I hold more against all the control freaks in the Gov. who love to dictate what people can and cannot do with their lifes...

Maing, a little competition didn't hurt anybody... besides, what good it is if only YOU know what you are doing? Leave something for the newer Generations... then once we are the EF Dinosaurs we will be able to look back and remember the good we did (or the bombings, that is).

Im in for the hell of it, although I dont have terrible far to go really.

A month shoulder/tendonitis issues mixed with eating fairly poorly and I shot up a few lbs of fat.
 
ahh what the hell, ill do it. i need some motivation to actually cut. i can give up anytime during this right?? :D

saw them already. Looking diced (specially the delts). Now, how come you are heavier and leaner at the same time??? did a couple of cycles?

I am still working on the diet. I have a log in the women's section that, if anyone needs to see or would like to critique my draft diet. Finalized diet and workout, along with stats & calculations will be posted in my log.

upped protein content and have used diet to solidify- ie - NO cardio.....
