At what weights did your 3x5 gains stop?

Just wondering as progress seems to have stopped now.

Perhaps I should lower the weight and start jumping again?

Shock the muscle by doing high intensity training or by switching around the order of exercises.

Although, I might add this is not a very valid advice, since I dnt knw anything about your lifestyle, sleep patterns, diet, so I can't tell you what you're doing wrong.

Stalling is inevitable. First thing you can do is scale the weights back 10% and work up to the sticking point again. Don't be tempted to do extra work. After that, dropping heavy back squats to twice a week is helpful You can add a light squat day on wednesday (%20 of your PR), or do front squats that day. With these strategies, you can progress many months.

You are not overtrained by the way. Slightly overreached at worst. This is completely normal and is to be expected.

What makes you so sure

I've done for the past yera and have been through multiple cases where overtraining happened and I took a week off and continued on my merry way.

Either way, your best option is to scale back on the weight this next week. Whether you take it off or do lighter weights is up to you, but dont do a full workload.

Overtraining is a physiological condition brought by months of excessive training and insufficient rest. A week off will not be enough, it takes months to recover from a case of true overtraining. He would be lethargic and depressed too if he was truly overtrained.

Overreaching is when your body has trouble adapting to the progressive workload, and needs a short break (or longer if you are an advanced lifter) to recover. You are basically letting your body catch up. That seems to be more like it in his case.

heh, what you consider Overreaching is what alot consider the beginning of overtraining. Hence me calling it overtraining. Same concept just different terminology.
