Asus Laptops as good as the Mudda Board?

Everybody says vista is slow.. Vista running on my laptop at home is smoking fast
Just get:

dual core chip that is fast
2-3gb ram
sata hdd

If you take some 2-3 old computer with xp on it and slap vista on it of course you can expect it to run a little slow.

This states vista but I believe they will put xp on any dell.

I keep finding some good deals on Lenovo but they all come with Vista... I'm not ready to deal with Vista yet! I will hold on to XP for as long as I can. I would take the plunge to Mac before I go Vista.

If I go Lenovo, I think I'm going to have to buy it with Vista and just load my own version of XP Pro on it...
Sucks ass..

I found a monster of a Fujitsu all maxed out, but it is way out of my price range.

The Dell outlet still has some Laptops with XP. I just get confused looking through the endless list of models.

Looking at Lenovos, are you shopping vendor sites, or direct from the MFG?

Everywhere I can find.

Got any ideas?

I'm leaning towards a dell at this point.

lenovo are awesome but be prepared to spend more $$$
I use CDW a lot but we also have purchasing power, not really good for the solo home user

I recently bought a 2.4 gig dual core Dell w/ Vista (3 gig RAM). Runs like a dream.

Dell has some crazy deals at times. I had my system all worked out and just checked their site for a couple months until a deal popped up.

I got a $2700 laptop for around $1700, interest free for a year, 3 year on site warranty. Almost got this bitch paid off, I'm so glad I bought it. I've had zero issues w/ Vista.
