Should I do assistance lifts on explosive rep day?

For example:

On monday I do close grip bench, dips, bent over rows for assistance. Should I do that on friday when I do my explosive reps? Or should I do different excersises? If so, can anyone recommend what excersises to do?

Thanks in advance

You should do assistance work on both days.

However, whether or not you should cycle them is still something I've been enquiring about.

i definatly do assistance work on both days but i just keep relatively differnt exercises.

for upper body dynamic............ max effort exercise then dumbell triceps ext, then rows, and shoulder press.

for dynamic day........... i do speed bench....... then barbell triceps ext, pull downs and the shoulder raises.

same muscles being worked just in a differnet way........... it sure as heck breaks up monotony.

Assistance lifts

You should definitely do assistance work for the tri's and back both days. Some do shoulder work both days, some don't. It kinda depends, alot of guys have shoulder problems and can't work them two days a week heavy.
As for cycling exercises, yes. Keep an exercise for as long as it is productive then switch to another. This will vary from person to person and how advanced they are. Newer guys can train the same lift for weeks and still make progress. You also shouldn't do the same exercise both days a week. For instance on one day do close grips, then the second day do db extensions. I like to do barbells one day then db's the next. Then I do pressdowns afterwards.
As for assistance exercises, you should go to elitefts.com and read the article by Bob Youngs on a basic starting routine.
