Aspartame = increased appetite ?

Areyou saying that aspartame induces an insulin spike ?

Shit !
I'm actually using aspartame w/ coffee, yogurt, cottage cheese....

Usually these products are made in the same plant w/ other sweetners/sugars, so 100g dextrose falling into the mixing bin for the Aspartame is possible. 100g is a very small amount, to give you a comparable example in dextrose powder form, about the size of a flat rate $4 priority mail envelope stuffed. So, it's not much but enough to mislabel the product.

Oops, you're right I meant maltodextrin. But anyway, one sucralose (splenda) bad contains about 0.8 of malto which is about 3 calories. One this that doesn't contain any calories is saccharin, it once was though to cause cancer in rats, but the FDA has withdrawn it's warning. Not so good taste but still, if you drink 10 cups of tea a day, it may save you 30 cals a day that the splenda would give you.

Does anyone have an opinion on the saccharin ? besides not the best taste. ZERO cals... which can come to dozens of calories saved if you use artificial sweeteners a lot during the day.

Once thought to be carcinogenic, it is actually safe

but it does not taste as good as aspartam

True. it doesn't taste as good or as sweet. I like Sucralose the most. But if I drink 10 cups of coffee and tea a day, it comes to cutting about 30 cals easily by using the saccharin, so I would go with it instead of aspartame, asculfame k or sucralose. as all of these are binded with maltodextrin.

you can burn 30 calories by just chewing all of your food more than normal and doing some stretching. 30 calories are nothing in the grand scheme of things.

30 cals = 1% of a regular 3000 calories day
