Army Physical Fitness Test - Took One Today

Yes, it would be better, but I don't think it is a realistic goal.

Perfect answer.

Hey buddy, not making fun here. I think if you so chose, you would make a great politician.

Well I happen to notice a couple of you bashing on the Air Force a bit and I would like to inform you of the actual PT test requirements. Air Force has ONE minute to do the minimum 45 pushups. Air Force has to do 50 situps in ONE minute. and run the 1.5mile in under 12 minutes. And I'm not saying the Air Force is all hardcore PT and I'm not denying that self PT in the Air Force is bogus but just give the Air Force a little slack here... Or don't bash on them when you don't know the requirements please. The bike test was taken out years ago when the Air Force got its bad name. But they are changing a lot now. :)

I did 66 pushups in a minute, 60 situps, and ran the 1.5 in 9:50ish

I choose to take that as a compliment :) Who knows? Maybe after the Army I can settle in a state where that is possible.

You mean a state that's not Maryland, Illinois, or Virginia? That kind of state?

Maybe a small district with a diverse population dominated by a military base, military families and retirees. A place in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, or Washington State.

Another thing to take into account is the fact that these are essentially endurance tests. I used to work out at the airforce gyms and there were dozens of guys who looked like semipro body builders. I once shared a squat rack with a special forces helicopter gunner who looked like Paul Dilltet. The air force is full of jacked guys.

Texas is a good choice, and I know a very prominent ex-politician from WA, albeit a bluie.
