I got a question for all of you.... how do you know if you are really strong???? I personally don't think that lifting a lot of weight means strength when you weigh a lot...

So does anyone have any Lifted weight: to body weight ratios.
I want to find out what to shoot for. I figure squating for average peolple is their own BW (bodyweight) and for strong people is 2times their BW and for those genetic freaks and AS users 3times your BW means your close to being a comic book character.

So please tell me what you think and try to write 3 types Average/ Strong/ Unreal.....

IMO the best way to determine this is push ups and pull ups

I can do 60 non stop perfect push ups , have to try pull ups to see how much I can do ..

i disagree with ur statment that strength is relavent to body mass. ur saying a 140pound guy benching 200pounds is stronger then a 200pound guy benching 340??? nah man. sterength is strength regardless to size. thats just my opinion.

Omega44 that's your opinion bro and thank you for replying, but I gotta ask you when you go to a gym and see a three hundred pound lard ass put up maybe 315 with sloppy form and gloat that he is strong while you(Lets hypothetically say 200lbs) and put up 275 who do you really think is stronger? Is there anylift that determines overall strength? Just curious and I don't want to seem picky all imputs are welcome.

6' 250lbs..generally around 10-12% bf

I can almost press 2x my bodyweight...but 500lbs is alot of weight too...It'll be awhile before I actually do it....LOL

I can easily squat 2x my bodyweight...but don't think I'll get 3x my bodyweight (750lbs) any time soon.

well its easy the guy who lift the heaviest weight the longest (thinking of arm or leg length) is the strongest man....

Whomever pushes the most weight is the strongest. Body mass isn't everything. I'm tired of little guys placing all their problems on lack of body mass. Face it, not everyone can be a big dog. No formula is going to tell you that your 275lb bench press is heavier than my 425.

I don't think that weights have anything to do with whose the strongest. If you want to see whose stronger out of two people, just have them wrestler each other till one taps out.

Wrestling is like a total body lift. If I can dominate someone enough to make them tap out, I am stronger. If I tap out I am weaker.

You cant compare a guy with short arms to a guy with long arms on bench. He is only pushing half of the way you have to push.
