If you have actually never watched porn, I say you are lying. That's just my opinion, as I would say that everyone, even girls like to watch porn.

I also think it's kinda sad how in the States our society is still sexually repressed when compared to say, Europe, which ironically has far less social problems.
If things here in the US were more casual and free, I think our society would mature much faster since we would be able to learn on our own.
Everyone knows that restricting access to something only makes people want it more. This is why I think censorship is bad idea-porn/violent movies/music, etc.

jerkbox is right on. We have too many laws in this country that prevent us from growing on our own and making our own decisions.

For instance:

Alcohol laws in Europe are much more lenient than in the U.S,
yet who has a bigger problem with alcohol abuse?

I bet many Europeans are laughing at how ignorant our country is to the cause and effect relationship of governing a society.

I think it will take quite a while, maybe a few generations, but we can still have the freedom in this country that we were supposed to have from the start, and I think it will be better because of it.

Outwardly I will agree with you on many of these issues. However porn spending in this country is a multi-billion dollar business. And people are fucking everybody, wives, husbands, kids, clergymen, etc. As for drugs, I'm sure we dominate the world by leaps and bounds in terms of drug consumption. However, outwardly, everybody insists on looking like they are a bunch of puritans.

I am torn on exactly how to raise my kids. I have been so tremendously affected (in a hyugely positive way) because of the time I spent in Europe but now that I must remain in the US for an indefinite amount of time I must change some things about my behavior even though my views are different. I want to raise my kids with the open attitudes that I believe to be better but since we must live here for now at least, they must be able to seperate how they think and how they must act to circumvent problems.... Or do you guys think that this isn't so?
