After reading a couple of articles on women's wants and needs I decided to look up some men's issues. TO my surprise there are very few resources dedicated specifically to men (Maxxim, FHM, etc are more like frat boy mags).
I posted in a chat room once my concern for the lack of resources for men. A grrl quickly snapped "what are you going to talk about, farting and scratching your balls?" I replied "no, money, health and other issues that affect us men. Oh and football."
Anyway after some informal research I learned this:
As many, if not more, men get prostrate cancer as women get breast cancer.
The first thing a man should learn is finances. We are expected to foot the bill for EVERYTHING. The second thing we should learn is rejection. Rejection from jobs, from women, etc.
Women comprise between 56% and 60% of all college enrollment. This may mean nothing now, but in future generations we will have a dearth of uneducated men. Not a pretty prospect.
99% of all "danger jobs" (hazardous duty) are filled by men.
If you ever watch network TV, men are complete idiots or evil. It always takes the wife to put him in line. Yay.
The list goes on. I bring these points up for the folks who are intelligent enough to see a problem that is very subtle, but is growing. This is in no way meant to be a slight against women, just a wake up call for society in general about men.
