Anyone Here Do Overhead Shrugs?

I'm considering throwing these into my routine, but I was just wondering if anyone else had utilized them. And if you have, were they usefull for hitting your traps from a different angle, and were there any inherent injury risks?
 
No. Overhead shrugs look like a military press with a barbell. However, instead of rasing and lowering the weight by extending,flexing, abducting and adducting your arms, you simply hold the weight above your head with arms extended and shrug your shoulders using your trapezius, deltoid, supraspinatus, etc muscles. Obviously, you have to use less weight since you're holding the weight above your head.

From what I understand it's supposed to be working your traps primarily but obviously with the weight above your head you're going to be recruiting a lot of stabilizers in the shoulder girdle as well as other abductors. It's a fairly restricted movement just like a regular shrug because all you're doing is elevating and depressing your shoulders. Like I said, I've never used them but was hoping that someone had and could share their experience.
 
I have never heard of them..

First of all I have heard of a similar exercise that got me pretty sore that were called overhead upright rows.. you simply took a close-grip on an ez-bar and started with the bar at your chin and your elbows flared out. Then you simply extended your arms overhead and locked out at your elbows. It sounds VERY strange I know and barely any weight can be handled but they worked pretty well for a while..
