Anyone have any success in stopping their period?

Thanks for the info....I have had the depo shot before and it made me bleed the entire time except for a couple days breaks...so it definatly won't work for me.

Depo only makes you spot for 6months-1 year. after you've completed 1 year, you don't have any bleeding at all.

personally, I didn't mind the constant spotting, since there was never enough to need a tampon, just enough blood to make wearing nice underwear out of the question for about 9 months.

estrogen blockers ( ergopharm) have worked for me. I only use them pre contest, though.

I've had a little bit of luck with Red Rasberry Tea.....drink it 3 days before my period starts and it's helping, my period is ALOT lighter, not changing my tampon every 10 minutes........

Seasonale (sp?) is the method to only have a period 3-4x a year. But it is hormonal too, not sure how you would react to that. I'd check with your GYN.
Yep that's the name of it... Honestly I wouldn't try it. I mean, there's obviously a REASON for us to have them, so why mess with nature? Who knows if later down the road, there will be a new "study" that we need our periods, or that Seasonale can cause cancer etc. I don't even want to bother with that.
I don't see what's wrong w/ taking the pill & getting your periods on a monthly basis. I mean, sure it sucks that we have to have them, but I deal with it & go on with my life. You have to remember that each pill effects us all differently, so what works for me may not work for you. That's why you have to try them. But as for any side effects, I haven't felt any...not weight gain etc.

I think bleeding 3-5 days a months is a pain in the ass and I hate it. In the past I've taken bc pills every day and have had success in completely avoiding my period.

The primary health concern that has been identified to have a definite relationship with amenorea is accelerated bone loss. However, the amenora is also usually confounded by the presence of poor diet and lack of exercise.

But a woman who engages in frequent progressive resistance weight training and follows a health diet, including sufficient caloric intake, is an entirely different situation.
