for me personally I was going to the gym 5 days a week then had a bad injection, swelling anti biotics etc... only went 3 times that week that following week my bench jumped up 50 more pounds, so I go 5 days 1 week then 3 days the next week etc..I know this probably goes against conventional wisdom but it is working for me. Rest and diet are key, heck if it is like my deer hunting trips your'e going to be walking 4 or 6 miles a day for a week, great exercise! go high protien low carb and call it a cutting week.
