Just wondering if there are any others on the board that like to do crafts.
I like to crochet in the winter, and make hemp beaded jewelry in the summer.
Got some really cool beads today at hobby lobby .

Anyone else craft in their spare time??

I always said I would make my own jewelry, but I never really did.I had a friend that made jewelry while we were in cosmetology school, she actually did well. She sold it to other students and made good money. I really don't have the time, but I would love to be able to do holiday crafts though

I used to work in a wedding / florist business and used to spend ages playing about making things

I used to enjoy making little crystal 'things' to go in with flowers and in hair, have made a few of my own crystal headpieces over the years. I never got round to tackling a full on tiara because they take quite a while to do, but one day I will.

I've collected loads of beads / ribbons / things over the years with the intention of making jewellery for myself, but just have never actually done the 'making' bit . . . the buying bit comes easy

I'm just starting to design a huuuugggeee print to go on the wall of my bedroom, so am off to buy some canvas and paints today yaay!

I hate to admit it, but yes, I have made crafts - mostly Christmas stuff......Not so much this past Christmas - but when I give gifts, they are homemade.....For example, I buy leftover slates from the store & paint over them, trace on a pattern then paint it for a decorative hanging....and the way I do it is that 1 side is the "store" side, pre-done & the other side is what I've painted......I've also done some hangings for our backyard - did a "Free Beer Tomorrow" sign, the Corona Label on a slate and hand painted the Long Trail Brewery logo on a wooden sled for a friend.....

I love to craft, I paint, scrapbook, I actually do a craft a day with my kids. Holidays are the best for crafting. I even make those wooden signs and paint them.

Yeah I'm a painter... I love to paint on canvas.... I also make cards at holiday's and not to big on scrap booking but I made a few. Also created some Indian jewelry, beaded bracelets, create lotions and body scrubs, sew curtains, draw using pencils or chalk, make flower arrangements and wall hangings, I'm a decoratoraholic ... It all comes from my mom's side.

I LOVE to make little Christmas decorations and fridge magnets..... AND this year- I am making stockings for my puppies.

I make my own jewelry, I've actually sold it for seven years now at farmer's markets and on commission in a couple clothing stores. To be specific its beaded jewelry, mainly necklaces and earrings but i do make bracelets and anklets as well. It's such a wonderful hobby. It can be a little expensive, but compared to some hobbies its very inexpensive, and you can show off your creations at any time, and they make great gifts too. I suggest it to everyone that wants to get creative. not only is it creative outlet but I find that it really de-stresses me as well, which is i guess what hobbies are for.
