Any Tuna (the food) fans here?

Ronnie's trainer/nutritionist says tuna is a poor source of protein for building muscle in the new Muscular Development. If Ronnie's eating beef and chicken, then I'm gonna eat beef and chicken!!!

you can also run his 5g of gear a day cycles, and I bet'cha you still wouldn't look like him :o
point is that tuna has complete AA profile - it's just as good a protein as any other source of full spectrum AA :martini:

You'd probably better talk to Ronnie's pharmacist too then.

I try to eat a little bit of everything a day. I usually at some point in the day eat a can of tuna or some tuna salad. However, the main meals for me consist of eggs, chicken, beef, and sometimes pork. Its winter time, so I can eat lots of meats and potatoes!

I love tuna. I mix a can up with chick peas and mayo. Have one every other day, when I don't have any chicken cooked up.

Good discussion.

Tuna is EASY, so I eat it alot. 2 pack daily as I mentioned above.

But I must ask about the mercury issue. 2 family size packs a day which is 7 servings according to the packaging info. I usually don't eat any on the weekends.

I am 6'2" 200lbs. Is this too much tuna? Are there any syptoms (other than death) that I might keep an eye out for? We are talking Mercury poisoning here aren't we?

I will start incorporating some chicken into my daily routine. I love it.....and it isn't too much of a pain in the ass.

Thanks,

flee

I've heard a little about the mercury thing. I honestly am not sure how much it should concern me. If it is a big problem, I'm in trouble.

Actually no one knows for sure

The FDA warned pregnant women and kids not to eat tuna more than twice a week though

But canned tuna has less mercury than large fresh one

I eat it anywhere from 2-5 cans a day,Im cutting and poor so I take what I can get, even when bulking I ate 3 cans a day,no side effects that ive noticed and Ive done this for 3-4 years now

people have been eating tuna out of the can for many many years. Bodybuilders especially. If we haven't seen people dying of mercury poisoning in the media, and tuna isn't banned yet, I think its safe to say its fine to eat in moderation. 1 can a day. If your eating more then this then I would think twice. Mercury builds up in your body over a long period of time, and theres no way to get rid of it. You don't shit it out or anything.
