The Hells Angels (and most of the Bandidos, their competitors) got owned back in 2001 during the Operation Spring 2001. Over a hundred of these fools were arrested and they had to build a special court

In Kalifornia -- it's even worse.

In our police state -- just being caught once with level III drugs, or even a gun or anythihg that causes a felony -- can mean a nice 3-5 year sentence.

HA's flourish in areas where there is lawlessness. Unfortunately few areas in Cali provide that environment.

Hard to have an organized, stable "club" when members are routinely locked up for 3-5 years and hence, out of operation.

So slowly, the HA's are becoming an "image only" club. Which -- laugh if you want -- really isn't a bad thing. There is no glory in being a criminal. They're going back to their *roots*. Being a *brotherhood*. Of course -- many in the organization, fueled by previous dollars -- are not happy being glorified mascots. Hence the flux and crisis going on. They want to expand, but there's nowhere to expand .. safely.

How exactly to people get into one of these gangs/mafias/groups anyways? Is it all family based/close friends and then just add not so close friends as their pawns?

Hang around, get noticed, do whatever they ask you to do and wait. They have different levels which require different level of madness.

the HA have a big presence in Ventura California...see them all the time up and down the freeway and in downtown ventura...they "own" the AVE. on the outskirts of town, near Ojai, ca....clubhouse is there, Geroge Christy (pres.) is all over the place with a few of his boys...theyre fairly cool, layed back most of the time...George got beat up real bad a while ago by a mexican gang here in my town...almost died.

You have to basically hang around them for a few years until they ask you to be a member.

Yep.

I was way too straight laced to even be thought of, although I did get asked to one of their kids b-day parties.

Which is a compliment I suppose.....but I did learn a lot about them by riding with them on their Tuesday night rides.

The Hells Angels (and most of the Bandidos, their competitors) got owned back in 2001 during the Operation Spring 2001. Over a hundred of these fools were arrested and they had to build a special court house inside the provincial jail to host the hearings. The big heads are all locked up and the few remaining members no longer carry their colorful jackets.

But anyway, the HA were just middle-men for the different mafias around (Italian, Ukranian, russian, jew....). Now these same mafias are using unorganized street gangs for the same purpose. Mostly black and asian gangs with some wiggers around.

Remember when Mel Lastman got owned because he was caught welcoming the HA's at a hotel. Good ole Mel. lol

haha oh man that guy was too much...
hes totally disappeared off the face of the earth since Miller took over

theres a strong HA presence where i live, and i chat to some of them here and there since im so often out and about ;) but not to the bruisers or wannabes, since they piss me off rather severely and id just end up getting into brawls.

the ones i get along with well are the guys whose fathers/uncles are/were active players, and so theyre only in it because they grew up that way. nice down to earth guys who are very straight talkers, which i like.

the guys who wear the colors and are in it for the image need to have the hell beaten out of them imo. good thing that actually often happens lol ;)

most of what you hear about them is bullshit, most of them would have their fat tattooed arses haded to them by any young/fit guy/soldier (lots of soldiers where i live, also) and theyre nowhere near as ferocious as they would like you to believe...like the time there was an MMA fight organised and one of the guys was a "tough bikie"...who jumped out of the ring and threw in the towel when his opponent started with the spinning heel kicks and high round kicks ;) ...though there are some scumbags who deal with young girls that im looking forward to reading an obituary about

The HA's aren't even close to being in a crisis. The FBI estimates they take in 1 billion dollars a year and only have about 2500 members so i think they're doing ok.

HA makes more money selling support clothing than drugs. They are hated by the Outlaws, Banditos, Mongols, Pagans, and every other significant club around. Forget about the Hell's, check out outlawsmc.com

Theres still a strong presence in montreal. Alot of it does run through family cause blood can be trusted over anything else.
I know a HA that went to jail and got out after 3 years for a wrap he never did. He was protecting his uncle who is up there with the ring leaders.
