I tend to agree with you, but I suspect that as long as the judge presides over this ward of the state, she has the legal right to make subjective calls like that, just like a 17 year old still living with his parents would need their permission.

hey guys, like nimbus said, the foster parents are not in a position legally to permit the minor to join the armed forces. that only comes from the child's guardian - and the foster parents are NOT the guardian. sounds like a legal techincality to me.


but i agree that potentially the judge imposed her own personal feelings into the decision she made.

oh well. life goes on.
