Ok, I posted up my current routine before, that has netted me wonderful gains. My current weight is around 174 (geez I started at around 130) and Ive made most of this naturally, with a few light cycles, Ive just come back from an injury. Before the injury I was around 187 or so. Anyway, with the addition of enanthate at 500mgs/week, would this split still lead me to over training?
Sunday - legs
Monday - chest
Tuesday - back
Wed - tri's
thurs - bi's
fri - shoulders
Sat - traps

Thats gotten me pretty far, but I'm wondering if I continue, even with the addition of 500mgs test a week, if it will lead me into over training. Anyone care to comment?

do you have any days off?
I am of the belief that 5 days with 2 days rest is quite beneficial....and on those 5 days that you train, train like you are invincible i.e. heavy and with as much volume as you can with that heavy weight.

b.A.

I say you take a day or two off. Remember sometimes....More is less...and less is more. just my 2 cents

Chops

The split doesn't look like you will overtrain but why go to the gym for just traps? Add traps to shoulders and bis and tris togethor. You grow out the gym.

"but I'm wondering if I continue, even with the addition of 500mgs test a week, if it will lead me into over training" - Yup, that's exactly what's going to happen. You can overtrain even on gear.

Just remember that Dorian yates trained 4 days per week for his MR.Olympia.

Before that he trained on a 3 day split.

chest/arms

Legs

Back/Delts

And Im sure he used more then just 500mg sustanon. :)

My current split is

Back/bi

legs

chest/delts/tris

But I amy do the other 3 day split...

and im on 500mg test.

only if you do too many pressing movements.

When I do delts after chest I only to fly movements

side raise
cable side raise

cause I hit the fronts with my incline presses...

Anyone have opinions on the tri's after chest and the bi's after back. I know for a fact I won't be able to hit them hard at all, But I see thats what alot of folks do. Anyone?

Actually I really like this one I just did:

NOTE: I ALWAYS do traps by themselves, its the only way they will grow is if I beat the shit out of them continually. Well, I could combine them with shoulders but I'm not so sure.

Sunday - Chest/Shoulders
Monday - Back
Tuesday - OFF
Weds - Traps
Thurs - Tris
Fri - Bi's
Sat - Legs

That is true...

However- When doing chest movements, do you realise that your tris are involved in every exercise? So you only need if any, one exercise to hit them directly.

Think about it...

the average program

incline press 4 sets
benchpress 4sets
(hopefully that it for chest)

Thats 8 sets of tris...

then most people will do
lying ext 4 sets
pushdowns 4sets

Thats a total of 16 sets for tris and only 8 for chest...

Now we all know why most people have small arms...

too much work.

Work heavy on chest presses and trust me your tris will grow. It is impossible for them not to.!

Same with back... ALL back movements use bic.

So you think doing the back/bi's chest/tri's thing is worthwhile?

I have been doing that for a long time. And I usually just finish with 1-2 sets of bicep or tricep.

Works for me...

I remember when I first started getting huge... 18yrs old 230lbs this guy who is always there asked me howmany sets do I use for chest. I said maybe 3-4. He walked back to his friend and said this guy has fucking good genetics. NO I just train smart!

Chest/tri's
Back
Off
Legs
Shoulders
Bi's
Traps

OR

Chest/Shoulders
Back
OFF
Legs
Tri's
Bi's
Traps

OR

Chest/Shoulders
Back
OFF
Traps
Bi's/Tri's
Legs
OFF

This one if anything.

Biceps alone is not worth my drive to the gym.

Also Traps alone? Hmm is it worth the drive?

I have to obliterate my traps to make them grow, I mean really fuck them up good to make them get larger. And it takes it all out of me when I do it. I go extremely heavy. Biceps, yeah, I could stick em with something else. Here, how about this one:

Chest/Shoulders
Back
OFF
Traps
Bi's/Tri's
Legs
OFF

Cardio, abs on off days. Whatcha think of that one?

Thats what Id do...

i do chest/tris and back/bis... it allows me to do less isolated arm work.. plus, i could never curl as much as i can b/o bb row... you know the saying... as mohawk muscle eluded to... big bis come from big back... same for tris with chest... also, you should just give traps and shoulders a shot together... do shrugs and then arnold presses or behind-the-neck presses and tell me how your traps feel... plus, ever do lateral raises with pre-exhausted traps? hurts so good

my split is this:
chest/tri
legs
off
shoulders/traps
off
back/bis
off

So you'd advocate a day of bi's/tri's over doing tri's on chest and bi's on back day?

No but thats what he wanted to do.

The arms are so small and weak in comparison to the chest/back. IMO no need to work them seperatly.
