It depends on the person, but a 17 year old can definetely grow as much, if not more than 20 year old.

im 17, and i was just wondering if a 17 year old can be expected to grow like a 20 yr old can. A trainer at my gym said otherwise, he said that because i am still growing and developing, i havn't developed the muscle maturity to really grow "out". That doesn't mean i wont get gains,,, just that i wont explode like someone who is fully grown. Is this true?

that really sux,,, because i thought that i wasnt getting any serious gins because of my age,, im beginning to get very depressed about working out. My training is good, i eat like a motherfucker, and i sleep 9 hours a night. Still,,, i see nothing. I dont kno how long this is supposed to take....

my training was (i just switched it this week) te conventional form of training a body part once a week. I have been working out for 4 months, i dont kno what kind of results i should be expecting after 4 months.

Do this. During the next week record how many sets, and how many reps you do, and what kidn of exercise. After that post it here and maybe people here can make your routine better. By the way 4 months is very small time period, many people need much more time

maybe im just expecting too much then, lol. Thats the problem, i dont kno what kind of timeframe i should be expecting to really attain a decent physique.

You probably are expecting too much. Obviously the interpretation of decent physique varies from person to person, but it takes few solid, consistent years of training and clean eating to lookl ike someone out of ordinary.

thanks a lot for all the help man, i really appreciate it. haha, i dont kno what i would do without this board! im going to bed for now,,,, night.....

I actually agree with the trainer to an extent. You are comparing apples to oranges to an extent...

It takes a long time for true muscle maturity...that is a BIG reason why I am looking thicker and leaner...my muscles are continuing to get more mature. I didn't begin to look thicker till about 24...then again I can tell a big difference betewen 24 last year and 25 (nearly 26) this year.
