Troll, I don't cook everything in advance, but I do make sure my husband and kids eat the way I do. If they want to eat other stuff, they're on their own. My husbands's a chef, so he doesn't want to eat fake food=I never buy processed stuff, stuff in a box, frozen dinners, etc. I do plan out our meals in advance for the week.
I buy only skinless, boneless chicken breasts, marinate them and freeze them in servings for 4. We eat huge salads and lots of green veggies. I cut up cukes, peppers, etc. and have them in big zip lock bags in the fridge. I make gallons of pasta sauce at a time, freeze in ziplock bags. If I don't want to eat pasta and they do, I'll have my portion of sauce on eggs.
If I make rice, I make a huge batch and stretch it out for a few days. If they want to have something I don't want to eat, I have a shake or something I've premade.
Yes, I do spend one evening or afternoon a week cooking or preparing, but my kids help me. I shop at Cosco and always buy huge quanities at the grocery.
I eat an Isocaloric diet which means I eat equal rations of fats, carbs and protein. It's easy to live in the real world this way and it works for everyone else, too.
Not to delve too much into this, but I've seen this pattern too often: if you're doing all the chores, working and trying to take care of yourself, it's too much pressure. You might need more help with household chores or to out-source them.
