ADHD meds + Diet

Okay, I have a ADHD and I really want to take my medication in the morning. The problem is, when I do this, I don't want to eat anything. Around lunch time I'll usually want to drink a bottle of water and MAYBE eat a cheeseburger. Any suggestions on possible balancing of meds and diet? I have talked to the doctor, but the med is a stimulant and that seems to be what it does. Suggestions?

Either take it before bed or choke back a protein shake. If you are into BBing, you will have to get used to eating sometimes even though you don't feel like it. It's not often but in cases like this, you can either eat or just not really grow.

Most ADHD medications will suppress appetite. Talk to your doctor about getting put on strattera (or some similar non-stimulant ADHD med). Strattera does not contain stimulants and should not suppress your appetite.

EDIT - Also, if you take your normal medication before bed you probably will not be able to fall asleep. I'm not sure if doctors recommend taking ADHD meds in the morning to help with concentration and focus throughout the day, but I would be willing to bet they do. Best bet is to try to switch to strattera or a similar med.

a lot of this can be overcome (in some people) by eating regularly while on it.. I would, however, avoid the cheeseburger =x

but yea, if that doesn't work for you talk to the doc
