addicted to gear

I was curious if anyone has heard of a case where someone couldn't stop with the gear or used "in between cycles" to the point that cycling was no longer structured. I mean can a person get to the point of becoming so emotionally attached to being on that they never really go off? I can't really articulate it, but how common is it to lose your head so much that you are pretty much doing whatever you have at the moment and your "cycle" is shot all to hell? Any stories of anything similar would be helpful. I feel like even though I'm not "cycling" I'm to scared to just stop. Obviously this is not the way to do things, but without getting into the details here, my results have been very good overall and I've not noticed any real sides. I'm not using obscene amounts or anything.

bro I can see how it would be very easy to keep going. The thing is though out of everyone that I have heard about staying on they use doctors and constantly get tested. Being addicted to something isn't cool. I would say do the right thing and get some HCG and end your so called cycle for the sake of saying your not addicted to Anabolics, you just love them. The CG will keep your gains for awhile while you rest a couple of months then start again.

Just my thoughts.

I think a lot of people become addicted to the quick results they get with gear whether it be muscle gains or losing fat. Sometimes psychologically people get the idea that they will not be able to make gains without gear which is a bunch of garbage. Gear can be used as a CRUTCH instead of an aid.

I know enough people who are in this boat. Enough guys on here are like that and I know quite a few people personally who are like that as well. :(

Obviously unless you plan on being on HRT the rest of your life, so you can produce your own natural test again.

It is certainly very easy to want to stay on all year long. But it's much better to structure your cycles and take time off. It allows your body to recover and you'll most likely make better gains when doing cycles rather than stayinig on all year. Even though you won't plateau, your body is adaptive and will slow down growth after a while. At that point, the gains are not worth the damage of staying on for too long. And plus, a break to eat a less strict diet once in a while is good. Not everyday while off, but once in a while is good. Oh! and what about occasional drinking? That's definitely something that is not advised while "on". So breaks from AAS are good and neccessary.

Why come off?? For the love of your health. I don't care if I die a few years early from gear use -- but who the hell wants to die 20 years early?

exactly

Well it's somewhat comforting to hear that I'm not just some idiot who's got no willpower. Thanks guys for not bashing me. With that being said, I totally feel empowered now to start a smart post. I've read and researched so much technical stuff, but when it comes down to the "human nature" factor, I was in the dark. This message board is really a Godsend in that respect. Thanks for all the solid info and support. Its much appreciated.

The Twelve Steps of Anabolics Anonymous

1. We admitted we were powerless over steroids — that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicted anabolic users, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

:lmao:

honestly.....how many years do you think cycling steroids will take off your life....notice said cycling...not staying on year round.....i guess about 7 or 8

I think you could become addicted...
To that feeling that you get when your “on”. That constant pumped and strong feeling....but it’s definitely not wise to go with out a break, to "detox" your body.

It depends.

If a person only ran 1 moderate 12 week cycle per yer -- I would go as far to say that it may not even take any time off your life -- provided you live it healthy.

Now a guy who runs 2 heavy 12 weekers per year. I'd say maybe 4-5 years. Then again, this is purely speculation.

i beg to differ, I think it might even ADD years to my life, when I'm on it I eat very healthy, work out harder than ever and generally healthier than ever, when I get off I dont eat right I drink like an alcoholic and will miss working out a lot more. Growing old with muscle mass will prolong your life when you get old.
