Accutane and Gear

New member
Hello all, ive been reading posts on EF for many months but have just recently become a member. I am finishing up my first cycle (test E 300mg/week, adex .5mg EOD, clomid for PCT) and am starting to break out like crazy, I have a feeling this will only get worse as I start PCT with clomid in a few weeks. When i was much younger I strugled with acne and ended up doing a cycle of Accutane which solved all my problems, until AAS (5yrs later). I was worried from the start that AAS, specifically test, would cause the terrible acne of my youth to return, so at the first sign that this was indeed happening I ordered another cycle of Accutane which I will begin upon completion of PCT. I am confident that the Accutane will again solve my problems but I'm unsure if the positive effects will last if I continue to use AAS. Accutane works by decreasing activity of oil glands, but test is said to do just the opposite. I am now in love with test and hate to think i can never use it again but if i get my skin clear by going through another cycle with the ever toxic Accutane, I will not want to see it just break out all over again. Any advice from those who have used Accutane, especially those who have continued to use AAS after Accutane would be apreciated. Not much literature on the web about Accutane's long term affectivness in those using gear.

It's a simple concept really. You can apply it to almost all drugs and medication. You build a tolerance to them, so you need more and more for it to work as effectively. Why do you think you need more gear now than when you were a beginner? Why does someone have to pop 10 pain pills a day instead of one like when they first started taking them? Use your head bro.

Accutane sides increase each time you use it, and it works less each time.

I talked to 2 doctors about it, and both said it's not true. As far as I know, you're the only one who's ever claimed this.

So you're saying that accutane is somehow this magical drug that your body doesn't build a tolerance to, even though it builds a tolerance to practically every other drug? My doctor wouldn't even prescribe it to me after the third time because of exactly what I stated above. He also told me EXACTLY what I wrote above. I kind of wish I wouldn't of done it the third time, then maybe my vision would be normal again.

bro, start the accutane NOW, dont wait for the acne to get worse, because if you're like me, when you come off and start pct it most certainly will (esp with clomid). i battled my post cycle acne for 5 months before starting the tane, and i wish i did it earlier. GET ON THAT SHIT AND SAVE UR SKIN BEFORE IT GETS WORSE.
i'm thinking of even ordering some tane for my next cycle, and just running a maint dose of like 20mg/day starting a few weeks before my cycle.

Accutane has had several class action lawsuits against it due to some of the side effects, both long and short term that are associated with multiple doses of the drug. Just some of the problems associated with its useage include crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, mental disorders including suicidial tendencies and women who get pregnant while on it, up to a 35% chance of birth defects, yow! I would be very careful with using Accutane at all.

You're right, and I've joined one of the lawsuits!

Accutane is going down boys! Fuck that nasty shit! It's probably going to be strickly black market after we sue the shit out of roche. I know it's helped a lot of people with acne, including me, but it wasn't worth what it did to me. I finally got laser treatment, and it kicked ass. Haven't had any major breakouts since. Even helps with depressed scars. I still have a few minor ones, but I still get laser touch ups, and they are going away slowly but surely.

For those who think accutane is safe.....SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE!

accutane haters suck it :)... it can be a great drug

but accutane take a while to work if u get the RX..sometimes results dont come till month 4 or so :(

How bout I just pay you to suck it after I sue the shit out of accutane?

There are more than 500,000 different prescription medications sold via pharmacists in the U.S. and other countries. The FDA indicates that Accutane is number 4 on the FDA top ten list of medications attracting serious adverse reaction reports and is number 5 on the FDA top ten list of medications attracting severe psychiatric adverse reaction reports.

Well despite the fact that Accutane is very very toxic, it was a wonder drug for me. When I originally battled with acne I tried every, and I do mean every, possible treatment with little success. If it werent for Accutane I would have been forced to move way up north where it is way too cold to ever take your close off, cause when I did it was not pretty. I looked like some sort of lepper (sp?) or something. I know the possible side effects are great and the risks associated with its use are high but, for someone with ance as severe as mine was Accutane was a God send. With that said, i would like to repeat my original question: After a treatment of Accutane were any of you guys able to continue to use any gear without interfearing with the success of the treatment. I would really like to do a second cycle, but not if it means having to use more of the ultra toxic Accutane.

I'm gonna go ahead and start now. After everything I've read about Clomid I have no doubt that things will only get worse if I wait. As for your idea of a maint dose I'll be curious to see how that goes. I would hope that it might not be nessasary, it took five years for acne to return after my first treatment, but when you throw gear in the mix im unsure, this is my biggest question. Great Fear & Loathing quote by the way. I could watch that movie till my eyes bleed.

I certainly don't consider Accutane safe, more of a last resort. I hated the sides and could almost feel it eating my liver. I tried everything else, accept laser treatment. I thought laser treatment would only help remove scars, not prevent future outbreaks. How much does it cost, how much follow up required, what are the long term results, have you continued to use gear without any new breakouts, etc. I would love nothing more than a permeant solution that does not involve ingesting toxic subs, ie Accutane. Thanks for all your insite, as it seems you have had plenty of experience in this area.

They have lasers that kill bacteria (work like antibiotics), and lasers the shrink and control sebaceous glands (works like accutane). If you get a treatment with these two lasers in combination (Nlite, and CoolTouch2), it is an amazing treatment for acne. It is pretty expensive, but if you shop around, you can usually find a good package deal. The plus side is that you get other benefits from the laser such as improvement of scarring, wrinkles, firmness, etc. They also have a photo/IPL treatment that helps with acne.

So it would be hard to guesstimate how much the laser surgery would cost because it would vary from case to case depending on severity, but how about a roundabout estimate? Is it at all possible that it may be covered under some insurance plans?

Laser treatments can cost anywhere from 100-300 per treatment; maybe even more in expensive cities. If you can find one the has acne treatment packages, you can usually get a better deal. Last package I got was 3 IPL treatments, 3 Nlite treatments, and 2 Cooltouch2 treatments. That is 8 treatments, and I payed $600. They also let me make payments so it wasn't too bad. If you're paying for your own accutane, that can be just as expensive (even more sometimes). The laser takes time to work just like accutane. You may even have initial break-outs like accutane too. Just depends on what laser they're using, and what combinations they do it in.

How long did you wait in between each cycle of accutane? It sounds like you're bashing this drug, but it's more out of your own irresponsibility that you are having problems - accutane isn't meant to be taken multiple times. If anything I would assume you should wait at least double the time on, just to be on the safe side

I waited 2 years inbetween each course of accutane. I was NOT irresponsible, and was prescribed the medication under a doctor's supervision each and every time. Oh and by the way, ALL the people that are sueing roche for their accutane, were under a doctor's supervision also (looks like I'm not the only one bashing accutane). Irresponsible is buying on the black market and not getting a prescription. Tell me again how I was being irresponsible???????

And ya I am bashing accutane.....I hate it!

Ah, I see. I thought you were just using it with every cycle. Damn, that sucks. I'm on it right now, first time, hopefully the last time. My last cycle really broke me out bad, never got this bad. Next cycle, I'm going to go with Nolva + HCG only PCT (no Clomid). I'm pretty sure it was the Clomid that caused it b/c it was my first time using it and before my acne would always clear up after a couple weeks - it's been a few months now.
