not at all, tehre is your upper abs located right under your sternum, the 4 middle muscles, then the two under that right above your bladder. a lot of people dont have the bottom 2 developed very well cuz only specific excersizes target them, such as leg lifts
For me, I have noticed much more stress on the lower abdomen portion by doing weighted sit-ups with my legs straight out flat as opposed to knees bent. Full ROM, and do not "bounce" off the floor.
i dont know how mcuh this hits the lower but i do full decline situps at like 30 degrees or so with a 45 plate on my chest my abs are sore from top to bottom for days. seems to hit all of them great. and i am at 10% bf and top 4 show the next row is coming in as sooon as i lose a little more bf i am sure ht bottom are there. but be sure to do full situp better than crunches imo. i did leg lifts to never as sore as the full decline.
Are full situps on an incline bench with weights ok for your back? I recently bought an incline bench that came with some small weights (like 8lb) and when I do a full situp, right about at a 90degree angle, my lower back makes a nice little crack. It doens't hurt, but man, it's disgusting to feel.
