AAP, Omega, and all you other guys who avoid excersises that give you a big waist

so im starting to realize my heavy deadlifting and heavy squatting at my height and hormone levels are putting more size on my waist and butt and its looking disproportional to the growth in my upperbody (lats/upper shoulder and width development) and wrecking my v-taper.

i know iv gained some fat (fuck you puddlemonkey), but iv also noticed a drastic increase in waist size and im very seriously considering bailing on heavy squats and dls, but will probably do them in very high reps or for example today i did "explosive deadlifts" with a power shrug at the top for my traps, but with like half the weight i usually deadlift.

when i get here i was told that squatting and deadlifting HEAVY release growth hormones in the body that help everything else grow. so iv always attributed my growth in other parts of my body to lifting these 2 heavy.

do you guys who avoid the waist growth excersises believe the hormone stuff, or do you take so many hormones that you dont give a fuck? or am i over stressing it and taking that too seriously.

and for those of you like javaguru who will feel the need to chime in, i dont care about your abs when u were 13 or how much better ur genetics are than mine

Never stop trying to get big? Then why cut out such a key lift as heavy squats?

lol, I should have remembered to suck in the gut for the family photoshoot .. that's the 2nd person who's called me fat :D

when I bother to cut my waist gets to about 33" after a couple months dieting. But I hate being under 240 so it never lasts. Back when I was 190 and hadn't trained in 6 years my waist was... 34".

Genetics determines proportions. So long as you chest is 20" bigger than your waist it doesnt look so bad not to be shopping in the boys section for pants.

i wasnt calling you fat and i know your strong as fuck and work hard and i admire that, but not everyone does.

im probably just going through a phase, and will end up deadlifting heavy every other week or so, im teetering on the edge.

by genetics determine proportions, do you mean my body wont let other parts of my body get bigger without the rest?

iv been following tweakle and watching his vids and everything since i got here. dude has been a huge motivation to me.

its exciting to see people like him and galaxy respond to something like this so fast, and i was all but decided untill him and some other people whose opinions i trust from the other end of the spectrum as aap and omega chimed in.

im hoping to hear from AAP and omega and others on the opposite side of the arguement participate in this thread so everyone can learn.

Dude, people respond differently.

There does not exist one single, credited choice here.

You must learn how your body reacts to various stimuli.

You aren't new to training. How has your body responded so far to various training styles?

my muscles are jacked, along with my core muscles. im losing fat slowly but surely. and i still have a big core. which i dont want. i do alot of standing over head pressing, heavy squats, and deadlifts.

i will never stop squatting because its my favorite leg excersise (not favorite to do tho), but i will stick in the higher reps, like nothing below 10, and not going super heavy anymore.

i will deadlift heavy probably every other week, and go for rediculous amounts of reps with light deadlift weight, to keep functional strength, and help with traps.

i will probably stop standing OHPing altogether or do it once a month for fun, since its my all time favorite excersise.

this is what i decided before i started this thread.

its all subject to change based on the info i read here
