A few questions

I've been reading the old-school 3-day a week workout on the forums lately, seeing what Corn recommends. I'm a bit wary of doing that though. Here's why:

As I've said before, I don't think great size is my goal. I don't blan to be a BB nor do I play any sports for my school. I just play basketball with my friends outside of school for fun. Yeah, anyway, I'm also into martial arts. Able to do a 540 kick nearly perfect now.

If I go ahead and do that routine, and gain that weight, wouldn't it counteract my martial arts abilities? Sorry if I'm annoying about all this, it's just I need the problem resolved. I hear not to do light/moderate weight with high-reps because it doesn't build much strength. Blah, help this wandering soul...

look at the old threads - the average strength gain was like 35 on bench and close to 55 on deads ans squats

A 540 huh? Very impressive. Do you compete? Possibly on the NASKA circuit...??

Heh, nah...

Nope, no competition for me yet. A 540 isn't all that hard. At least, I don't think so. My vertical leap can clear 4 ft easily too. See, this is why I'm afraid of doing your routine, Corn. Though I'll gain strength, won't it weigh me down a descent amount, to the point where my martial arts ability suffers?

My kicks (aerials especially) improved both in height, vertical, and speed...as I got stronger.

Yeah, but Corn's formula seems to point towards gaining mass and weight. Of course strength comes with this. Basically, I'm asking if there's away to improve strength with VERY minimal gains in size/bulk/mass (whatever you call it)?

At the time...I was training for mass also...but always did squats, bench, and deads...and intense and heavy.

What I don't get is the lack of targeting other areas of the body. I know, the tris are worked in the bench. But where are the bis and the abs? Well, I may as well do ahead and try this formula. I'm gonna be pissed if I get huge and can't flip anymore...

By the by, how much weight should I use, reps, etc. and when should I increase the intensity. The whole shabang, right here.

I really don't know. I rarely ever train my biceps but train my triceps quite often.

Talk to Corn...tomorrow...he will help you out.
