Why not go to university, take a little bit of everything for your first year, and figure out what you are interested in.

Highschool is in NO WAY a predictor of how well or how interested you are going to be at university.

I graduated highschool with a 60% average and graduated university on the deans list.

I say you go day by day, year by year, until you really know what you want.

um - aren't you supposed to SPECIALISE in uni? They sure don't let you "take a little bit of everything" over here! You can seriously do that in the US?????

Well I was accepted into Tulane University and my enrollment is fully paid (I just need to pay for boarding and books) so I can get into pretty much whatever I want, they have PhD for almost everything being a large private university. I am pretty sure I want to get into engineering. My entire life I have liked working with high tech stuff and building stuff, modding computer parts, etc. It just seems like the ideal career for me.

He probably means college. The terms college & university are interchangeable here in america but they mean differen things.

College = undergraduate programs
University = graduate programs

No, here in undergrad you specialise in one subject. You do your picking random subject stuff in A level/Leaving Cert/Highers/Baccalaureat/Abitur etc. Then you major in ONE subject, sometimes with 1 minor, at most, as an undergraduate.

How do you timetable if everyone is doing loads of different stuff? And if you're doing loads of different stuff, what do you get as a qualification?

Here demand vastly outsripts supply for popular subjects, especially psych, so you have to apply for these specific streams and not just pick the subject when you get in.

Graduate is a whole other ballgame...
