___Give us your brief training history___

Okay here goes for me.

I had a gym class in my freshmen year with some of the best athletes in the school. I was about 150 lbs, had some fat on me, no muscle at all. You get the idea.

I wasn't able to squat, bench, or clean, nearly as much as them, they were amazing. I could squat using 85 lbs and bench 85 for 5 or so.

At the beginning of my sophomore I joined a gym and didn't know much about it, I used all of the machines and trained my whole body 3 times per week.

I then began using more and more free weights, but only had a 2 day split, so it was hard for me to work everything at one time.

I kept training and finally went to a more simple powerlifting type routine. I got some strength and size, and fat, from that.

I then moved to florida, had my own car, didn't have to have my mom take me to the gym. I started training 4 times a week, focusing on each muscle group instead of each powerlift.

I now weigh 200 at 17 with about the same bodyfat. I am trying to lose, I am not fat but I could stand to lose 10 lbs. After I cut down and stay that way for a while i'll go back to bulking and maybe do my first cycle by then.

I started as a short fat ass that was really pissed off at being called "chode" in middle school. I was pretty damn fat - 173lbs and ZERO muscle @ 29%bf. I know that's pretty funny looking back, but to 12yr old being called that repeatedly isn't the best for his ego. I joined the gym of the American club of Singapore. This malaysian trainer wannabee put me on the rowing machine for 30 mins. He didn't even ask me what my goals were. He also put me on all the machines, and never did I touch a free weight, nor a dip station.
1 year of that - and normal eating habits. No change.

I moved back to Brazil. There, still being a fat ass@29%I, joined a hardcore gym. Naturally I was very outsized, but I didn't give a shit. I was gonna become like them anyway. I told the trainer to give me a split. Again, the old machine shit. Cmon ! 6 months of that, no results. I grew one inch, maybe that helped. But I was only 5'4, and still weighed 79kg/173lbs @ 29%.

I then moved to Paris. At 14, and still a fat ass, I stole 2 editions of Muscle & Fitness from my neighbor, and saw BEGINNERS ROUTINE FOR MASS. I started lifting free weights for real then. All I did was useless reps for bis and back and triceps pulldowns, because I was intimidated of what ppl would think if I dared use the bench press or the squat rack . Of course, one day I read about compound exercises and there I was busting my presses, and my squats. I started loving the results. I started reading every bit of the Tmag website, reading all the mags I could steal, and soon lifting became my life. With experience I learned how to manipulate many things in training and learned that diet is of prime importance. Now, I am obsessed with training and diet altogether. I came from 29%bf to 8%bf - with a six pack to show off. And damn, to go from a spare tire gut and being called chode all your life to having 6 little bulges in your stomach and a slight bulge on your chest is the BEST fucking feeling in the world.
Unfortunately, my feeling of satisfaction did not last long. I started bulking and gained fat slowly , which is always very hard to see considering you were so fat.
But, here I am , much happier with who I have become physique-wise. At 5'5, 182lbs, 13% bf , coming down from 172lbs @29%bf. I probably had an lbm of what, 120lbs? I have mad awesome improvements - not to mention that extra inch I grew - and I still hope to get some more inches (hopefully).

Lifting is the best thing that ever happenned to me.
*sniff*

Chode! lol thats funny...I think there were a few kids we called chode back in middle school.

Yeah I was one of those fat ones too. Pale skin, puffy cheeks, wore sweatpants everyday, NO STRENGTH. I'm glad to hear of your gains. How old are you now? Hopefully by the time i'm your age i'll be doing as good.

When I started lifting i was about 14 and I was so fat, probably around 18% BF. I could barely bench 60 lbs and i weighed about 170 with no muscle. I started lifting with Monstarr and going to the gym as much as I could. I then became 140 with no fat and not much muscle. So then I somehow got to do a 4 day split and stayed on that for a year. Now im 165 lbs prob 10%bf but people tell me I'm huge and they could never picture me as fat. Some people even say i took steriods but that doesnt bother me.

i have been lifting for around a 1 and a half years, started out at 130, now am 160 at 13%.
my strength has gone through the roof, compared to what i started at!my bench has boubled, squat has gone up110 lbs, deadlift has gone up 130 lbs.....
during this time i have raed a shit load of flex, musclemags, muscle and fitness, read lots of books, researched a tone of stuff over the net and am doing a sports sciece course, which has helped me endlessly with the nutrition side of things...

It's cool though, when you remeet ppl from back in middle school , and they see you, they go HOLY SHIT !!
They are skinny as hell and Im completely changed. They face they make is a face like if they had just gotten it in the ass. It seems fat asses that workout always end up with the better side of things.

Garza, btw, I just turned 16. (August 21)

When I was 12 I was 5.8 @ 230 pounds w/ 40-50%bf. Weight was never my problem, it was always by accent, so I never bothered to lose the weight. Then I moved at the age of 13 and in my school I saw this chick that I got a huge crush on so I decided to better my looks. I got an eatting disorder and lost 60 pounds in 2 years. I was 6.1 @ 160 w/ 15-20%bf so I decided to ask her out finally. She blew me off big time and I got really pissed off thinking I wasted 2 years. I then put all my fustration into lifting weights. I was overtraining BIG time. I only gained 10lbs of lbm because I was overtraining and still had an eatting disorder. I felt like shit. Finally I said fuck it and for about 1/2 year I stopped lifting and started eatting normally. I stayed and the same bf and lbm up untill now. I feel I'm over all the crap and its all behind me - now I'm training/dieting normally.

Hey advaik don't worry about that girl, you will probably be better off without her. Just keep working out hard and eating good and clean then send her a picture of you when your like 210lbs and 5% bf and let her know what she missed out on, let that be your motivation. :D

152lbs and 6"2 made me look like I was a survivor from Auschwitz. Needless to say, there wasn´t many chicks hitting on me. (just one girl did and she looked like an owl and she was hairy too :cold: )

In -97 I finally started working out but didn´t eat right or enough nor did I use free weights. The first year i gained about 20lbs but it feels like I could´ve gained alot more. After a while i stopped working out and didn´t start until me and a friend of mine got our hands on Andriol. We worked out like crazy for the first 2months but the andriol didn´t have any effect.( I think it was spoiled in the mail from greece and we had no clue what we were stuffing down our throats) My friend quit but I continued, this time I started to educate myself. Now I´m at 203lbs and growing and I´m not going to quit.

Two weeks ago I met a girl from school in the gym and I bet she turned her head 3-4 times to take a look at me :D

I can´t wait until next summer
