7 Weeks to a Shredded ME!...

Saw a comment about cardio in the morning... why would cardio in the morning have any effect on losing muscle mass, yes it raises metab for the rest of the day but if your body is well funded with protein why would you lose muscle mass?
 
I actually talked to this dude at my gym that is probably in his mid 50s and is a ripped fucking beast.
he's probably about 6'2" 240 lbs 7 or 8 % bf...
I need to ask him someday if he used to compete or not, but this guy is a fricken goldmine of information when it comes to lifting.

Anyways I was working in with him at the squat rack and asked him if he had any recommendations on how can I work my inner pec better and told him what wasn't working
he has this great cable exercise he showed me that I am gonna try tomorrow (chest day), but when he showed it to me I could really tell that would hit the inner pec perfectly.
 
basically like a crossover, but 1arm and standing at and angle from the machine facing away from it at about a 45-60 degree angle. Have the cable pulley set at about chest height and then crossover like a regular fly :-)
Fairly simple, but something I never thought of doing. Yeah I've done cable flys other ways but usually with both sides at once which actually can decrease your ROM.

Plus if you take your free hand and touch your pec and feel what is working, you can adjust your motion so that you make sure you are flexing your pec rather than your shoulder, tricep, back, or whatever else you might use to do the pull. He also recommended using a ball for support on a smith machine with a relatively low amount of weight and adjusting my grip until I feel it working where I want it to work.

I think my biggest problem with my inner pecs is genetics. Not so much that I'm not genetically gifted there, but that my arms are so long that a full ROM with a regular bench must use more arm than chest. I have about a 77" reach.
 
Ooooooooo... that sounds very good! But at my yoga mom gym the cable machine only has 2 options... high or low :(

Hmmm... maybe i'll do single arm pec deck, the pec deck that is at the gym is very adjustable!
 
I think that is key.... that is why cable crossovers didn't help me much cause I was setting them up higher than chest level...

do 1 arm at a time and stick it at chest level making sure you use the other hand to touch your pec and make sure it's working the right spot and you should have a recipe for success, you could always just find a machine with a cable system that lets you get it around chest level :-)

Flys are ok, but you can't get the angle he was showing me with them on the pec deck
 
On the start to finish squeeze are you simply pulling on a consistant level plane? Or did he show you to angle it up or down ...?

lol...people are going to kill me after I completely tweak out the pec deck for my own purposes.
 
I worked the pec deck like I said I would... got a nice feel. One arm at a time pulling across almost to the other side was great, full solid contraction.

Fu&$#*g Exhausted today... not enough protein ingested/calories overall I think. I'm beat.

OH and this piece of crap employee came over and said to me while I was resting in between DB bench presses: "Please don't drop the weights, sir." ... my reply, "ok... I'll try not to." My comment to the dude next to me pressing on the incline bench, "What a piece of shit, does that little guy want to catch the damn 80's for me?!"

lol... my gym is way to small, full of yoga mom's and new years resolutioneers!

I don't throw my weights around or anything, i can only lower them so much without tearinig my damn rotator cuff out. I consider myself a very courtious lifter... minus the grunting and intensness that oozzes from me, maybe if more ppl did like I did they get damn results..... GRRRRR :evil:

Ok, done venting... gotta do loads of course work now.
 
I don't live on campus, nor am I a "day time" student. I go at nights... commute to campus (it's a good 45 min. drive). There's a gym that's closer.... but I may move on to a "World's Gym" that's just about the same distance as the one I'm going to now... I don't think they'll be many "candy asses" there, lol.
 
Hummus is the devil. I can no longer let myself buy it and say I'll just have a table spoon or two. Because half a tub later (of the "party size," 1 lb.) I'm prieing (sp?!) it away from myself.

I missed it so much, I had to have a little reunion during my study/course work session like old times. Ok, so i think i'm going to say no to the eggwhites for tonight now because of that.

What is hummus anyway (i've never had it)

I went to a community college for a few semesters to get some gen ed taken care of and it was about 45 min away from where I was living. They had a gym there that was pretty basic. One bench, 1 power rack, a good dumbell set (only 1 set of each weight up to 120). More than enough plates for anyone to use on leg press, squats, bench, etc. 1 treadmill, decline bench, incline bench, etc and an area for some boxing/spinning/cardio step aerobics stuff and a cable set all in 1 room. It was very bare bones, but had everything you could ask for to workout except a lot of machines. It only had the machines you would expect to see a serious lifter using. They didn't bother with the a number of leg machines for adduction and abduction, they just had 1 hip machine. But I loved it. At most there were only ever 2 or 3 people really working out and that was on a busy day. They used it for classes, but it was a fairly small school and they didn't have a ton of classes in there and they were only once every week or so. Being a student I would go there just to workout sometimes cause it was nice and quiet. There was usually one guy watching the place making sure no one did something stupid and he was always willing to give a spot when needed so it was great (and free).
 
haha... bro, you must try it!! Hummus Tahini. It's chick peas. It comes in a clear "cream cheese type" tub. It's like a spread of sorts I'd say, for use with pita bread, crackers, ect. MMMmmmm.

Haha, sweet gym you had there!! I've used some in the Marriots that sound exactly like that... minus the dude watching the equipment, lol.... wow, i'm going to be hurting tomorrow... i'm not even done ALL the course work I should be doing... but now i gotta let myself sleep in a little later, damnit.... oh the pains of the academia world :rolleyes:

that's when I pop hotrox :-)
I use hotrox now for when I have late nights and need to keep the energy up.

T-rex gives me more energy doing cardio and I feel the heat, but hotrox gives me some regular old EYES OPEN energy.

Try 1 1/2's. Really peaks the the concentration of the chest. In other words, each 1 1/2 rep is 1 single rep. After bringing it in and contracting the chest, instead of bringing it all the way back, only go half way or so, (this keeps more concentration on the chest), and then bring them together again and squeeze. You will find it to be an awesome move. Use it with dumbbells on flies also.
 
I think I know what you mean... I'll try to elaborate on it.

1 rep = full range of motion

.5 rep = half range of motion

After completing a full rep bring arms back a little and then do the .5 rep for 1.5 rep movement.

Right?!

I do that sometimes... i love it, never really thought about making it a whole exercise... but i'll definetly incorporate it.
 
i use a similair method on bis

Standing Curl with bar I bring half way then lower then explode to full curl=1 rep..burns nicely and my arms get mad at me for this
 
yeah i got the idea from 21s..but i go halfway then full and count that as one rep not 7 half 7 half full 7 full

basically i cut out the first and last 7

The pec exercise is performed on a pec deck machine (not a pressing machine). Sitting down. Arms out, palms facing forward. And performed as stated before.

I think you may have been picture the chest machine that's for pressing. We're talking about the pec deck... flyes type machine. Like you're hugging a barrel sort of.

You got it! That really contracts the pecs......makes a hell of a squeeze. Don't go so far out that you lose that contraction, this is what makes the exercise work so well. TUT...(time under tension)
 
My pecs are really starting to take shape... I'll deff incorporte this new way of flyes for the pec deck, the contraction is tight!

Yeah... Cyrex knows what's up... it's all good Swanson, I just like to keep things tidy... So users can more easily browse and get information.

LMAO @ both.... no, no, Noooo..

both as in, Yes I'll do one armed, but alternate with doing 2 arms sometimes, and the 1.5's also.... i'll mix it up.... both = everything, not both arms, lol

weight this morning was 184 lbs I think (didn't really burn it into my memory cuz I try not to go by the scale... the mirror is my true opponent!)... I can see parts of my back popping out (upper lats), even though I still have some blubber on the lower abs, like by the sides are getting leaner... my arms are also becomeing more defined as well as my chest... legs, eh... not a huge focus right now, but i am doing legs today (squats, extensions, curls). Progree pics... na, I doubt it's noticeable enough for photos... a few more weeks ;)

P.S. Thanks for the Karma... i gotta spread it around more!

That post was from Jan 25th morning... 7 days later scale reads 184 lbs which = 189 lbs That's a 5 pound loss in 7 days... holy crap! Does NOT even look like it on me... it's not like i'm still loosing water though, i dunno. Oh well... like i said not going by the scale really, the mirror doesn't lie... and it's saying good work so far, lol.
 
negative... I use my meat hooks (hands pinching) they also say it's going down.

If they sell them cheap..... and I mean cheap I'll get some, other than that, I really don't care. Mirror remember :) ... that's the judge and jury.
 
Well Slaughter I havent even read this post until today!? We will have a compition between us. We started roughly the same time correct? If i keep of the bottle I think I can give you a run for your money. :) Although you done have all those nice fat burners that i cant afford right now.... but oh well. Maybe ill just get some clen to compete! Im down 6 lbs in 1 week...hopefully all fat. So let the game begin. Lets say 10 week we can compare pics. My pics still in gal.

EDIT: about the fat burners... I'm not religiously using my T-Rex anymore. I did use half the bottle on the 180 count one though... it did its job. Get my ass in gear with diet... i used it for motivation and appetite surpression. I will use only 1 - 2 max per day now... my metabolism is back up and runnin' on 8 cylinders ( 6.0 Liter of course) But I have been using Yohimburn ES for the past 3 days ;)
 
Mono shouldn't prevent training for 3-6 weeks, it's typically minor enough that you can still lift, just keep the stimulants going to keep your body temp raised a bit a minor fever caused by working out and taking some t-rex might kill it before it starts
 
excellent... i doubt i even have it. She told me the doc said she didn't have any syptoms... just tired all the time (she always is though...doesn't work out or eat right). Not sure if she had blood work done.

early in the week... last week. Could be... she's always tired, i don't know... whatever I can't do anythinig about it. I just try to prevent by being healthy like i usually do.
 
Leg routine absolutly sucked last night... i could only lift for like 20 mins I think it was... pathetic, especially for legs.. usually takes me an hour. I did 3 sets of squats and about 7 sets total between leg extentions and leg curls.

Energy is down the shitter, hope it's not from the mono virus. Upping Carbos a tad to see if that helps.... and downing Thermorexin' some more :)

My yoga type gym membership expires in march, YES!!! Off to World's I GO!!!

I might add, this was at World Gym, and much more my style compared to the ghey place i'm currently at... 2 more consecutive days on my free pass there until I have to make the final decision (by March 1st). And when I put down 350lbs and shook rack big time, no one looked!! YAY they don't give a shit there!! WOOHOO

I think i'm going to do some more military presses tomorrow... i didn't feel like I really, Really got them.... did dumbells today... maybe do a few sets of barbell presses tomorrow in the rack along with my back work.

Another plus: some fine ladies at World Gym ;)

Awesome. Having a place you like to go and feel comfortable at is very important. Keeps motivation up (so does the women).

what do ya wanna know about clen?

My first clen cycle consisted of 60mcg/day for 2 days then up to 80mcg/day
then up to 100mcg/day and finally 120mcg/day I ran ran it with T3 for 4 weeks

Now if you don't have T3, you need to cycle off every 2 weeks, you don't have to pyramid it at all I just started at 60mg/day and went up 20mg every few days until I really felt it.
For me it took 120mg for me to feel it.

You being a bit smaller than me could probably get by with 40 or 60mg/day for first time use. Just like with t-rex drink lots of water while you are on it and try to take it earlier in the day so you can get to sleep. Given a good dose you will most likely get some shaking/tremors.

ok, i need to know everything, i don't even know much many mg's come in one bottle. I'm only getting one. How would you put it to use... not looking to stay up for a whole week either :)
 
I think their bottles are 30 ml bottles
and I think it's about 200mcg/ml

I started at 20mcg and felt nothing then jumped to 40 then to 80 still very little then 100 and 120... then I ran it non-stop with the T3 till the T3 was done at 120mcg..

I did the T3 as stated except I kept it at 100mcg for 2 weeks instead of 1.

I would add some taurine to the mix, of course potassium and Vit C.

Day 13-14: 20mcg

I got one bottle and it's only half gone and i did 3 two week cycles of 120mcg. I'm not sure of the math, but it still have a bunch left. it's def. a better buy over tabs from overseas.
 
Issue today:

I can not... and i don't like saying "I Can't" believe me.... I can't go without a decent amount carbohydrates of some sort. I almost passed out in my office today... ran real quick to the back found something that i thought would absorb quickly... and it was a powerbar. This has happend before to me... I guess I have problems when my blood sugar gets low. Any underlying thoughts on that one??

(diet up to the point of passing out consisted of rolled oats in the am with salmon... then plain chicken breast, chug some flax oil, then flounder and 2 tablespoons of ANPB) ... I reallllllly need to buy some yams!

Oh, and i did hit delts again... that was MUCH needed!!

I had the MOST AMAZING working today. I went ahead and did what you suggested (started working chest 2x/week)


Anyways I was looking around and couldn't really find it, what is your workout schedule like? I know you try to do it at night, but what days and what do you work each day? Are you gonna switch it up anytime soon?

:) you couldn't find it cuz I've never typed it out.

My schedule is such that, no workout is EVER the same... i'm a huge believer of instinctual training.

I don't try to lift at night, but that's what works best at this point in my life. I LOVE to train in the afternoon, but I can't right now.

I usually work 1-2 parts each visit, not always though, as I said it's always different.... hmm, I can type up last weeks training:

monday: chest and tris
wednesday: back (lats/traps) and delts. and some bi work
thursday: delts (because the previous workout was half assed) and bi's
friday: legs

That's about how I remember last week to be.. i'm sure the days are off and if you want to be investigative about it, i'm sure I've typed here a few times I trained and what days.

Overall, I try to lift hard and heavy 4 - 5 days a week. Add some cardio in there about 3 - 4 times a week right now @ 10-20 mins each session.

Some weeks I'll hit chest twice.
Some weeks I'll blast bis and tris 3 times.... totaling I'd say 16-20 sets over the course of the week. That happens once a month it seems.

My training schedule is quite varied as you can see. :coffee:

NICE... Start doing some crazy super sets! More frequently.... crank the intensity!
 
CYREX: Did I mention to try and bring some weights to work?

Ya see if you place a 45lb plate on your knees while at the desk, you can simulate a seated calve raise... especially if you put a plank under the ball of your feet so you can lower your heel more :)

And seated barbell military presses also go well inbetween typing posts ;)

With weights at work.... you can lift 24/7. Use it to your advantage.

OH crap! And find a syringe and needle... that'll be a first!


EDIT: No, Liqui Clen does not get injected. The product is super potent and I want to have exact measurements for the mcg doses. :)

Starting with the low dosage and ramping it up, and then tampering down as specified earlier... I have 2 weeks until Vacation... seeing what this will do to step it up a notch with lifting and diet.

After vacation, i'm probably take a few days off (or not, depends on what I decide during vacation)... keeping diet maintenace and as clean as humanly possible throughout... then diet hard until i'm at where I want to be for the warm summer months.

;) I'm not loosing any muscle!!! WOOT WOOT, probably putting a little on so far!

EDIT: My inflamed elbow ("tennis elbow") is coming back to haunt me... going to figure something out for that... maybe implement a glucosamine regimine and stay on it.
 
Thanks for asking It's going well... but after many of re-evaluating my goals. I decided to take the "slow boat to China" if you will.

Still Clen Day 1: feeling quite jazzed up right now, very similar too adderall. I can sleep on adderall, so this should be fine.

After work (in about 20mins) going to do errands (syringe), some greens (veggies) at the grocery store, misc other stuff... then LIFT.

Chest day, probably triceps also and maybe a set of curls if I'm feeling ambitious (as I usually am).

Starting with the low dosage and ramping it up, and then tampering down as specified earlier... I have 2 weeks until Vacation... seeing what this will do to step it up a notch with lifting and diet.

After vacation, i'm probably take a few days off (or not, depends on what I decide during vacation)... keeping diet maintenace and as clean as humanly possible throughout... then diet hard until i'm at where I want to be for the warm summer months.

Day 2 Clen: 10 drops (20 mcg) .. but with the half life it's probably a little higher than that in my system right now.

On the prowl for a good quality and inexpensive digital scale (for foods), I've found a few so far... I'll show my choice once ordered.

Update Today:

Back workout last night was "nice" or "very good," not "great" though.

Only had a bar loaded up to 375lbs to work with for deads... threw some random "accesorie" equipment to weight it down some more. Did like 5 sets of I dunno... didn't even count.... just let it burn and put it down. My back feels like I worked it HARD last night, feels good though.

Oh Yeah.. Day 3 CLEN:

46mcg down the hatch this a.m. (a little more than I thought)
Jittery as hell most of the a.m. and afternoon.

NOTE: Take clen after Shaving in the morning! (Seems as though I'm pretty sensitive to this stuff) I love this stuff, I don't feel cracked out, but I know it's working... different from loading up on caffiene/ephedrine, ect.. different feel totaly so far.

Legs or Chest will get nailed tonight... depending on certain variables and time constraints. Training nonetheless will be going on!!!
 
Update:

Ok, after clen scared the shit outa me (takes alot to do!!!!!!), by waking up in the wee hours of the a.m. with my heart pounding.

... I'm back on board (after 2 days without).

20mcg taken using a Syringe (properly)

Taurine and Potassium intake have been bumped up accordingly.

Taurine @ 3-5 grams
Potassium @ 1-1.5 grams

I'm extremly sensative to Clen... shakey today on 20 mcg.

Tomorrow I'll probably go with 15 mcg ... 36 hour 1/2 life means there will be a little more than 20 mcg in me when I take the 15 mcg, right? ... yeah, i think i'll lower the dose so I can function still.

I'm usually absolutly fine with stimulants...adderall, OTC (thermorexin, caffine, ect.)...

Anyone else in the same boat?

I administered 40mcg by mistake... thinking 2/10 of 1cc would be 20mcg... I forgot in the fog of just waking up.

I feel fine... maybe even less jittery than yesterday at 20mcg.

50-55ish mcg down today
(damn air bubble... I don't want to waste any by holding the syring upside down and depressing the plunger!!!)

Last night was legs at the gym.
9:20pm got there after a 12 hour work day (well, ok... "day" or EF consult)
10 mins HIIT
5 sets leg sled
2 set extentions
9:50pm changed and left... closed at 9:55pm after my ass left :)

Legs will hopefully get hit again this weekend with some squats.
Schedule is so hectic right now getting ready for my 10 day hiatus.

Just making a general comment, as I, too, was at work an extra hour or so due to 'EF consults'

I read that as a rule of thumb our bodys can lose roughly only 1- 1.5 pounds a week without losing muscle. Just something to take into account 4 those who didn't know.

Don't believe everything you read :-) I've lost 3 lbs of fat in a week and gained 2 lbs of muscle before . .

but for someone at 13% bf and 130 lbs, they probably aren't gonna be losing 3 lbs of fat in a week
for someone like me who is much bigger, I can lose a lot more fat in a week than your average joe without losing muscle
