Ok I turn 47 in a week. Like everyone says you need testosterone HRT. Also keep in mind you will probably want to run an anti-estrogen like arimidex with whatever dose you end up running. Most of us running self-HRT run at least 200mg/wk and from a clinical perspective that will give you higher than HRT levels. So those dosages and above are not always available from the clinics or your doctor. You'll need to learn to inject and plan on doing it twice a week to keep blood levels relatively even.
The problem with going to your regular doctor and getting levels measured is that you will probably come back in the "normal" range even though your symptoms are classic. Myself my total levels are generally 4-500 but my free levels are low. As you get older your estrogen and SHBG goes up and that lowers the free T, which is the most important. If these terms do not make any sense to you now, they will soon after you study up.
For older bros I do not really like cycles. The ups and downs are hard on the body. When I go on I like to stay on for quite a while. That way the body really gets a full chance at regeneration, and there is not that pressure to maximize all your efforts around a cycle timeframe. When I come off I generally plan to stay off for quite a while, too unless I get really bad deficiency symptoms. For instance my last cycle I was on for like 8 months, T, Eq, and GH. I recovered from that no problem with a good PCT. I've been off for like 15-16 months except for some GH. The reason I stayed off so long is I had some injuries and lots of other things that were keeping me out of the gym, so I said whats the point? But even though my recovery was good, over this period of being off, I have slowly "slipped" back to a relatively more normal middle-aged routine and energy level, and lack of drive. I haven't been getting much pussy with that attitude. The worse thing is I don't really care. So since these symptoms have gotten worse and more noticable over the last few months, I finally got fed up. So I just started up with some T again. So looks like I am starting another extended run. And believe me it makes a BIG difference.
As for GH I don't think its as important to how you feel but there is some synergy. If I were you I would probably not go that route yet.
