45-Year-Old Newbie Needs "Old Fart" Advice:

Ok I turn 47 in a week. Like everyone says you need testosterone HRT. Also keep in mind you will probably want to run an anti-estrogen like arimidex with whatever dose you end up running. Most of us running self-HRT run at least 200mg/wk and from a clinical perspective that will give you higher than HRT levels. So those dosages and above are not always available from the clinics or your doctor. You'll need to learn to inject and plan on doing it twice a week to keep blood levels relatively even.

The problem with going to your regular doctor and getting levels measured is that you will probably come back in the "normal" range even though your symptoms are classic. Myself my total levels are generally 4-500 but my free levels are low. As you get older your estrogen and SHBG goes up and that lowers the free T, which is the most important. If these terms do not make any sense to you now, they will soon after you study up.

For older bros I do not really like cycles. The ups and downs are hard on the body. When I go on I like to stay on for quite a while. That way the body really gets a full chance at regeneration, and there is not that pressure to maximize all your efforts around a cycle timeframe. When I come off I generally plan to stay off for quite a while, too unless I get really bad deficiency symptoms. For instance my last cycle I was on for like 8 months, T, Eq, and GH. I recovered from that no problem with a good PCT. I've been off for like 15-16 months except for some GH. The reason I stayed off so long is I had some injuries and lots of other things that were keeping me out of the gym, so I said whats the point? But even though my recovery was good, over this period of being off, I have slowly "slipped" back to a relatively more normal middle-aged routine and energy level, and lack of drive. I haven't been getting much pussy with that attitude. The worse thing is I don't really care. So since these symptoms have gotten worse and more noticable over the last few months, I finally got fed up. So I just started up with some T again. So looks like I am starting another extended run. And believe me it makes a BIG difference.

As for GH I don't think its as important to how you feel but there is some synergy. If I were you I would probably not go that route yet.

well i guess im gonna be the lone gunman here

here goes

the symptoms you have could be from other things than lowered tes and gh

the sudden decline in three years when you are in great health could be symptoms of a lot of things

my advice is go to your doctor and tell him exactly what you told us
get every test he recomends
and if he dosent recomend testing for tes levels and such....make him do it anyway
if tes levels are fine(make sure he dosent say "for your age" as a qualifier)
then i would persue the problem from there. if he says he tes is ok and i dont see anything wrong. ask for a referrel to a reuhmatologist
or some other doc, any doc that might look deeper into your problem

if you turn up with a clean bill of health and low test levels
go to any hrt clinic you want to armed with a print out of the tests you have already paid for. get hrt.
even if money is an issue do this

and heres the kicker
if money is an issue
once you have a script for it
order it from your blackmarket supplier and discontinue your hrt treatment
self medicate
if you get into any problems with the law
a lawyer with a script and a proven medical reason to have the substance
well im gonna say your chances are reall good
especially with a old man judge who might be intrested in the full explaination of why you were doin it in the first place

dont wait another minute
make appointments today
you wont be sorry
find out the problem and get back to us
im 42 and havent crashed yet but have my own issues
so very intrested

You have given out too much Karma in the last 24 hours, try again later.
thanks brotha
the thing that stood out in his post that i noticed is that he reported no labido issues

Do you think 500mg a week of test is nessasary? considering 50mg a week is normally produced in a 25yo. I was thinking 250/250 each... Just until he sees what it does for him and how he reacts.

My friend 45 is the new 25
So don’t worry, it all good going forward.

Before I preach, I did my FIRST cycle when I was 47 years old.

I assume you know about training, rest, diet, supplements

I think it is time for a simple cycle, and not growth. Personally I don’t think growth or Igf is all that great compared to gear.

You would see great gains, in muscle, attitude and ability
From Deca and Test

I recommend that you do a 12 week cycle of deca and test with Anti-E’s and PCT

Weeks 1-12 Test E 500mg week

No, but 250 is a good start.

Been there, done that. I am also 45, went to a HRT doc, got the blood work done, started HRT 200 mg/wk test cyp, felt 25 again. My wife gets no sleep at night now and hates my doc. I immediately (3 weeks) felt less fatigued, shed 10 lbs fat and added 15 lbs lbm over 20 weeks. Now I'm on to bigger and better cycles, still getting blood work done every ten weeks, feeling great. I will tell you that at this age you must be extra careful about the compounds that you use. Deca hit me hard with every side this time around and I had done it 15 years ago with zero sides. My advice is to start with a minimum HRT test only dose and allow your body to acclimate. Stretch, stretch, and more stretching before and after your workout. The young guys laugh at me stretching so much until I squat and press twice what they do. Good luck...

Well, I've gone over the entire thread again. Looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do on the lingo. I'm reading the word "test" in some cases as in "taking a test" when some of you are just shortening the word "testosterone" ...or maybe this is the name of one of the supplements?

Is there a "how to" guide on this forum for us "juice newbies" to where we can pick up on some of the lingo? There's also a lot of tak about cycles and the importance of how the first one is done. Anyone have a link to more info on this ...so I don't end up like that big, giant red guy in the movie "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".

BTW: I DO have libido issues. I'm about 1/5 as horny as I used to be. ....Sometimes I think the babes can sense this!

EPROM

P.S. I've tried finding this info on my own ....but as you can see, there's a LOT OF INFO on this website!!! It's hard for a newbie to even know where to start.

All I can suggest is lurking for a month or so and asking for clarification wherever you need it. Unless it's clear, as in "a test" then "test" means "testosterone".

Test will boost libido, almost guaranteed and sometimes on the very first day of taking it.

You'll not turn into a monster in any short period of time. Have you yet read through the PCT forum? I recommend it: it doesn't change often and there's a lot of general info in there that's worth knowing and easily picked up as you read all of the cases where something went wrong.
