i was reading something and does this sound like a good pre workout meal?
 
Ugh, I wouldn't. Keep it to CHO plus protein. ANPB is good any other time of the day, besides in your WO window.

but since you ask, I normally have pure protein meals before my workout. My carbs I have earlier in the day, except for carb-up days where I eat carbs with every meal.

After the workout I hit the simple sugars/whey and NO FAT
 
I think there are many much better choices for pre-w/o out there. what exactly were you reading and can you post it up?

sometimes a good pbnj is soo good.
 
Maybe if you had it with a complete protein source such as meat, chicken, eggs or dairy, then it would be okay. The combination of bread and nuts will provide you with a complete protein source, but not that much.
 
It depends of you are trying to add muscle then carbs and protein are good preworkout but if youre cutting then cut the carbs
