20 rep deadlifts?

i have read a few times of athletes doing a 20 rep squat.
this is supose to be a deadly workout. using a weight you can normally do ten, and ten being very hard, then you mentally and physiclly gut out the next ten.
i know all workouts are different, but how does this compare to the 5 sets of 5?
and can i do this with deadlifts?
how often you do this exercise? 1 time a month?? or more , or less??

I personally used to do a 20 rep set of squats maybe once every 6 weeks, if I finished my squat workout and had some energy left then I would do them just for fun.

I did a 50 rep set of squats a few weeks ago lol.

About the 20 rep sets of deadlifts, there was a thread started by bino a while back about him doing them Ill try and dig it out for you...
 
These are all tools. If you want to do 20 rep Deads that fine but what is it that you are hoping to achieve? Complete CNS breakdown? Overhwhelm the CNS?
