The Rice Owls look to rebound from a 31-28 loss to the Golden Knights Saturday, when they take the field in Houston.

Sporting a 1-9 overall record and a 1-6 mark within the conference, the Owls aim to knock the Cougars (3-4 In the conference) for a loss.

The Cougars are favored, opening as 16.5-point chalk. They are 5-4 ATS this season while the Owls are 3-7 ATS.

While Ken Hatfield's troops were losing 31-28 last game, they kept the game close enough to take the cash for bettors who played on them. They lost to the Golden Knights, but got 10 Points from oddsmakers in that game.

The Cougars, meanwhile, will try to forget last week's 29-24 loss at the hands of the Mustangs, a game where they were favorites by 11 points.

The Owls need some production from their passing game. They rank 119th in the league, averaging 102.6 yards per game through the air. The receivers need to make some plays this week.

Some trends to consider:
Rice is 3-8-0 ATS in its last 11 lined games
Houston is 8-4-0 SU in its last 12 games after scoring 21 to 30 points
Houston is 1-5-0 ATS in its last 6 home lined games
