Best way to weight train if you are just starting out?

So I'm very new to weight training and I am in college. I would like to get into weight training and really get good at it quick. What would be some good tips that you'd recommend for me to try so that I can have some good improvements?

Bros, I would start with compound lifts. Pick out five or six compound lifts and do them and then the next workout do the same thing. Really build a good base.

Asking the right questions! Training can be divided up into two areas of focus: Intensity/ effort and precision/ execution.

Intensity and effort: How hard are you training? And are you trying to increase this effort each week? Learn about training to within proximity of failure and try harder every week to get closer and closer to it. Learn to train hard, and you're 80% of the way there.

Precision and execution: This is technique, or form. Are you mindful about improving your form with each week that passes? Can you sense/ feel the muscle you're trying to target? Are you considering your range of motion and tempo?

Combine these two and do your best to get better at both of them and you'll be leagues above the rest.

I've been doing this a long time, and like to think I've very good at training, but even I find new ways to level up each week!
