guy is an absolute asshole. he has one of the best and most experienced GM in the business at the helm and he decides to totally fuckin step over his toes to get this deal done.
we could have EASILY kept mozgov. i would have been ok with felton swapping billups, chandler (who we would have lost no matter what becuase he was a RFA, and needed to renounce his rights), and gallinari. Gallinari would have been the only real loss and he plays the same position as melo. but instead we gave up a legit 7 footer with upside along with all that

Felton was never the long term answer. That's why they signed him to a 2 YEAR deal, because they knew paul and d-will were gonna be free agents. Billups can play a season and a half at a high enough level.

Who really gives a shit who is right. The NBA doesn't pay me a dime and the games were better before they stopped letting people play defense ten years ago or so anyway. I do still follow football a little bit though, something about guys putting their lives/bodies on the line for sport.
Depends how good Billups is, I honestly have no idea. The guy was amazing a few years ago, if he still has most of that game than the knicks can do some damage this year.

The Knicks just traded 4 starters. Amare is the only one left. It's a whole new team, and having chemistry between them all is going to take time. Not to mention, they are currently a 6 seed and I don't see them moving any higher, which means they are going to have to play someone legitimately tough in the first round.

Im not even saying the knicks will get worse, in time they'll get good, but they wont contend against the bulls/heat. Thaats the whole issue that's just wrong with NYs front office, they did it with marbury and they just did it again. Got desperate and put all their chips in on a two pair. They're in their prime, they will want more money/same and their contracts are just too much for non leaders who are selfish ball demanding guys. They need a defensive anchor with defensive role players role players but all they're worried about is "how can we score another overpriced point gaurd". Just like starburys situation, they jammed themselves again for years and are not worried about competing against elite teams "dont worry bout emulating championship teams, let's shoot for a high powered offense to please the media and fans".

i'm not gonna lie lambruh...i just saw pics of gallo and mozgov at the Denver game. it was very hard to stomach. Gallo and felton really wanted to be in NY.....it's tough.

eh. the knicks haven't played defense this entire decade, especially since d'antoni took over 3 years ago. so that's nothing new.
as far as waiting, donnie walsh said in his press conference today and on the radio that Melo was going to sign the extension with the nets traded for him... provided the knicks weren't going to get him. It was either trade for him or lose him. He wasn't going to risk losing $20 mil under the new CBA.
BUT.........in the nuggets press conference, the GM said Mozgov was a shot in the dark. Dolan gave the call on that to give him up. They could have kept him and it wouldnt have been a deal breaker. FML
