Tell me WHY I should do bb incline on bench

why not do some kind of fly instead of a press? it looks like you have enough presses for your chest, and flys are crucial for chest development imo

It's a good assistance lift for OHP. That's the only reason I do them.

I do like low incline DB presses for chest.

IMO if you have bench, incline db and dips you dont really need incline bb aswell. Especially if you have BTN and db presses for shoulders.

I dont like BB incline at all though.

If your soul purpose is to increase your OHP I'd do the incline first. Maybe...

Incline
Dips
Flat DB
Flys

I'd mix it up though. Run this a few weeks then hit flat BB first in your chest routine.

Yea I agree, jus sucks because bench is such an ego lift. and i got a lot if ego, i think ill do

bench/incline
db incline
dips
flyes

Each week ill alternate incline and flat bb press like you said. Is there any benefit to switching it up every 3 weeks instead of every week SL?

since were talking about chest and i heard someone say flys!! i was wonder im a huge fan of cable flys i mix them up incline cable flys reg cable flys and decline cable flys.. but i never do reg dumbel flys is it fine just to stick with the cable flys i like them for a good burn at the end of my workouts

I doubt there would be much benefit. I suggested it that way with the main goal of increasing your OHP. This is what I'm doing.

I'm finally up to 225 for sets of 8 on the incline BB. I'm hoping to get a strict 225 OHP before long. I can get 185x10 with some slight leg drive on the last few reps. I keep getting crushed with 225 though.

ill post a video of me doin 225 BTN military press just for you in about a month :)

haha thx tho for the advice im gonna switch it up so i really can get my military up

Nice!

I can push press it for a few reps. I can't get it above my forehead strict. I'll get it sooner than later though. I'm thinking about really focusing on push presses and behind the neck jerks for a little while. I'd love to muscle up 275 from behind the neck.

I take a wide grip, same grips I use for squats, and I power the weight up with my legs. Awesome fucking exercise.

I do BTN military 185lbs for reps, I bench 300+ and my front delts are bigger than the rest of my delts

So is there any reason for me to include bb incline in my routine? I already do bb flat, and db incline, and weighted dips and bb and db military. What else can I do for chest? thx guys

I wouldn't add it to that routine on the same day, but it's good to have a larger repertoire of lifts to choose from. The stability and security of a bar and the incline bench apparatus will allow you to go heavier. Upper chest developement is good for tying the chest/shoulders/arms package together.

If I'm going to do any behind neck exercise it's behind neck jerk.

I concur. Awesome exercise.

You want to see some eyes bug out in a typical gym all you have to do is start putting about 275lbs or more overhead.

People are so used to seeing that or more benched, but rarely put overhead in any way shape or form.

Guaranteed to get a few looks.:D

I like the idea that they are a good exercise for assisting the military press. Maybe I can do

bench
bb incline
dips
flyes

???

that is exactly what i do, the flys are just a finishing touch to work the inner pecs and get the rest of the blood into your chest
