they've also improved those things in the newer models.

as long as you have warranty you should be ok. If you buy/lease a VW/Audi make sure it's new and you have warranty. don't have to worry about anything. if you end up keeping it past 50k miles (the length of the warranty), get extended warranty. it's worth it.

Tranny computer went out on my last audi at 53k miles and it cost me 3 grand. could got the extended warranty for much less than that for 3 years

i was smart this time. got it brand new again but kept it to a short lease so before it has problems i can get out of the vehicle and get a new one.

it's a company car anyways

By most reports, 2006 and later are much improved in the reliability department. JD Power ratings for VW and Audi have risen dramatically too.

My neighbor just bought a 2004 V12 Phaeton off eBay a few months ago, that thing has more gadgets than anything else on the road, more even than an S-Class, and so far they all still work. The little radiator that keeps the windows from fogging is amazing.

IF i did get a new jetta i think i would have to lease it. that way i could just walk away after the lease is up if it turns out to be a POS.

There's a new model coming for 2010, so there will probably be some deals on leftover 2009s. And everyone in the car biz has leftovers in this economy.

The new model is mostly just a facelift of the present car, with some minor mechanical upgrades and an even nicer interior.

the CC (is that right) seems to have gotten good reviews, but it looks so cookie cutter to me.

Audi/VW, same company, are industry benchmarks for interior design.
