He's not going to make it. He won't drink anything, wouldn't even eat a piece of provolone, which is the only people food I'd ever give him, and he won't pick his head up. His front left leg has started to swell too which means it's spreading. I had to carry him outside this morning to go to the bathroom. I had to hold him up at the tree he always marks. I'll give him until Friday to improve and I'll put him down. He doesn't deserve this pain after how good he has been.

Thanks man. The worst part is these past couple of days waiting to find out if there's a chance he'll be ok. I'd rather just end his suffering, but if it's treatable I'll do anything I can for him.

I know what you mean. Clyde the Cat, the kitten in my avatar, is fourteen years old, and sometimes I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. He's still healthy and playful, but he's slowing down a bit and doesn't spend as much time outdoors as he used to.

Holy shit. Just got off the phone with the guy from the lab. I guess he has some huge staph infection that has spread through his body. No cancer thank god. It's treatable, but it'll be pretty hard on him. I was prepared for the worst because they had me bring him back in last night and a different vet looked at him and said it seemed like lymphoma because a lot of his lymph glands were extremely swollen. It was kind of funny because I asked the vet if it was possible they were swollen because they were producing so much extra lymph to wash whatever was in his legs out because I had something like that happen in one of my legs. She asked what happened to me and I said "oh nothing. just something stupid." She kind of pressed it and I said "I'm 5'9, 220 lbs, and don't have that much fat..." She got it after that.

Anyhoo, looks like he's going to be ok. Thanks everyone for your kind words and support. It helped more than you might think.
