Gear and Gym Supersititons

Just curious how many bros out there have something strange they do when using gear or lifting that isnt exactly scientific but more of a good luck charm. I know for me, its bad luck to pin more than one cc in a shot and when Im lifting, the plates must always face in towards the lifter with the flat side out. Its also bad form to point out gains while you are working towards them, always brag about it later.
 
BUSTED!!!!! I do the weight thing myself and I line up the holes on all the plates. My buddy says I have OCD but I guess mentally I just want it all to be perfectly balnaced lol.

I do the thing with the weights, too, and when in high school I would never use the silver plates, always the black ones.


Now if I use silver it has to be balanced out. A silver and a black on one side, a silver and a black in the same positions on the other side.
 
christ, its so funny about the plates thing. my gym has two different kinds of 45's. I of course will not mix them on the bar. I'll walk accross the gym just to get one of the same kind
 
the gym i go to has 3 brands of weight plates, I can hold each in both hands
(45 .lbs) and i can tell the off brand is a tad bit heavier, same with the other brand plate also.
So I always use the YORK plates free style, all the others when i'm using a machine but i match them up for proper balance if the machine requires plates on the left & right side.


My Home Gym is all YORK!!!!

Man, thats too funny! Yeah, I line up the plates too. I have a buddy who has a marker with him everytime we work out. he marks the exact middle of every bar during squats and deadlifts, and bench then wipes it off when we're done. i asked him, he said "i dunno, its a mental thing". chalk, straps, marker...everytime.
 
I always bend back my index and ring fingers at the same time before I got to hold heavy weight when standing. Not sure if it really does anything, but I feel the tendons stretch and it is like a reverse grip feeling.
 
I like to slap the receptionists tits before working legs. It has nothing to do with superstition, I just like doing it.
 
I do the same thing with the plates too, LOL!
Line them all up perfectly!

And ALWAYS scream at the top of ur lungs, LIGHT WEIGHT!!:evil::evil:

damn you! I benched today and remembered your post. Now I started lining up the holes in the plates
 
i agree on that alcatraz...im a freak bout my weight..i weigh in, in the a.m. and pm. to see how my weight fluctuates
