Im in the wrong profession.

One of my best friends is a photographer...so I'm set there. I'm eloping with like ten people to an island. F the stress of some huge elaborate deal that costs a house downpayment. I have zero interest in some huge ordeal, that's like one of my versions of hell.

I paid about £6-7k (approx. $11k?) for my wedding & it was great tbh, nice cosy intimate affair.

Albeit our financial priority was saving to furnish our new home in Germany post-wedding, we still would have paid that irregardless.

Mine was $325. : $250 for the tattooed rings, and $75 for the filing. No guests, no reception, no unwanted gifts, no burdens on friends to buy clothing they'll never wear again, no wedding dress, no hassle! Neither of us wanted any of that crap. My wife's ex-husband put on a big $200,000 wing-ding at the country club in Dallas, with live music by a popular band (at the time), celebrity guests, and another God-knows-how-much on a 2-part honeymoon to Vail and then Maui. We think that the more you put into a wedding, the more it will jinx it. So far, and God willing forever, the do-nothing wedding is a big success!
