Anybody here had an inexpensive wedding?

I remember reading an article a while back that said the average wedding was 25k. 25k!!!

I could pay off all my student loans and cc and have some left over for a downpayment on a good car.

I'd rather have all that than a "special night" I'll supposedly remember for the rest of my life. I'm a person that doesn't look back at the past much so it doesn't bother me but people always say you'll regret it if you go cheap because they say memories last forever.

Who here had an inexpensive wedding like at a courthouse and then at a restaurant for the reception? do you regret it? how did you convince your spouse to do that instead of going all out?

I like lactic acid because it reminds me that I had a good hard workout. The days where I can't feel any soreness after working out, I don't consider those workouts very successful.

That's another thing. Divorce! Isn't the divorce rate really high? All the more reason not to get into debt right when you get married by spending it all on the wedding.

I remember reading the divorce rate was 40%. Would you jump out of a plane with a 40% chance of your parachute opening?

I've had a $30,000 wedding in the 90s and a wedding that only cost the price of the marriage license. The latter was by far better
