I live hours from majority of my family... Half is overseas. Steve jobs isn't the reason I don't see them face to face,
But it's people such as him - developing technology constantly which allows me to easily communicate with them.
It's people that avoid people, we don't get forced..

Jobs pushed the GUI and the mouse which makes him an innovator but all the newscasts comparing him to Edison are misguided; I use a number of Edison's innovations everyday but I've never bought an Apple anything.
 
Its like the Edison of technology. Without jobs there would be nothing like touchscreen tablets or ipads. He just innovated and created a lot of cool things that connect people.
Sad to see him go.

Well, it was a nice run for apple. Anyone who is buying or holding shares is an utter moron.
With the release of the new ios and phone it will be the last big thing, and pre order/surveyed potential buyers was already low. Without him as a marketer, innovator apple has nowhere to go but down. A big thing to is the codes have changed for app developers for the android base making it now easier to write apps for both platforms.

Many people aren't that happy now that everyone and their sister has an iPhone, they thought they'd be different and have a cool gadget not alot of others could afford. Now with the big red V, att@t, and now sprint(January) bringing it in it's only gonna get more watered down and cheaper. A race to the bottom is what you have.
Don't believe me, read any of the articles comment sections for sprint releasing the i5, loyal apple customers are not happy.

I'm a die-hard apple customer and I couldn't care less over how many carriers they cut deals with.

What am I missing here? Yes he co founded apple when they were just simple computers, and then he took off to work with Disney/Pixar, had it not been for ipods apple wouldnt be as relevant as it is now.... it's not like he personally designed launched and marketed ipods, iphones, ipads, etc there are product engineers, software engineers, marketing teams, etc that do all that, as java mentioned Edison had the idea and he built it all on his own and it lives on, being the co-founder and CEO doesnt mean all the products were his wonderful direct idea and he changed the world... please....

I'm not saying he's irelevant but people are giving him waaaaaaaaaaay more credit than is due.

He was the visonary behind all of this stuff, He is more of a Modern version of Thomas Edison. How many Patents did Steve Jobs hold?

his marketing team was genius when it came to marketing already done ideas, the ipad is a clear example, nokia has had them around for aaaaaaaaaages, touchscreens exist since 80's and 90's and tablets since early 2000 but they slapped an apple on it and made it "cool" to me that's what many apple products are, highly priced yet ordinary products, they work just like others for twice the price, ridiculous... I once heard a bimbo say "having apple products and macs is just so Fashion" I almost died laughing

oh and as co owner and cofounder of course he holds the patents, when you have a team of developers, designers and engineers most of them sign contracts stating anything yo design or invent will belong to the company... 313 patents BTW

I disagree with you. I think you are underrating how great he was. As a fellow entrepreneur, he was the fucking man.I have had people think the same thing about me until they talk to me and I tell them what I did to get where I am.And I am very poor compared to him! He broke off Apple and started another company by himself and made it worth over 500 million dollars! So then Apple bought him out and made him CEO of everything! That's Gangsta

Dont get me wrong the man was a genius and an unbelievable entrepreneur, I completely agree, what I'm saying is that he isnt apple he didnt design everything and he alone didnt change the world as people are portraying it... obviously he was a great part of it all

Oh there is nothing wrong with being practical, but there is nothing ridiculous about buying apple products,staying in a hotel vs. motel or buying premium paper towels as long as you can afford it.

People who would otherwise be apprehensive of smart phones, tablets, mp3 players or even PCs will gleefully buy a mac because they don't worry about being able to use it.

I have a 2005 Alienware lamptop that beats the snot out of your average modern laptop, however, price for it back in the day was outrageous, but it keeps up well with the trends... if I but another pc or device, I select it making sure it is upgradeable and will stay ahead, OR I'll pay less and buy the old version and shall not complain about all the features it lacks :p
 
I bought my iMac almost 2 years ago...is as fast as it was the day I turned it on, has never had any error messages or given me the slightest problem. Don't think I have ever even turned it off.

Say what you will, but apples products pwn the shit out of it's competition and the only people that ever have anything negative to say about them have never owned one and/or can't afford one.
