So what did they want you to replace it with? Did they give you any ideas on how they want to approach it, or what the finished product is supposed to look like?

If they tell you Mies van der Rohe (sp) modern, tell them 'thank you for your consideration' and walk out the door.

Are there lights around the crown modeling in that first pic? I like the look of it...I'd do 2 different colors on the wall....above and below that molding.

I would really hate to know how much they paid for those sconces.

Just putting some solid colors on the walls would be a huge improvement.

The structure/architecture is nice, but there is too much "going on" in each room. Stick to solid colors on the walls/ceiling.

I like the look of the house otherwise. When I am raking it in, I want to live in a house that has a Spanish/English combo of styles, if I can pull it off. I also like darker colors, but that's just me.

The whole house is faux finish.
No real stone was used outside of the baths and kitchen.

Seriously - I wish someone else could see this interior live - it took me days to wipe the terror off my face. The owners are such nice people and I'm just blown away that they paid these two guy designers to destroy this house.

How old is the house, and how long ago did the "two guy designers" destroy it?

i don't like the windows...or the doors.
the molding and columns are pretty cool

the finish on everything is awful....the floors are awful

the couches are cool, the rest of the furniture is yuck

coffee table looks kinda nice

i don't know jack shit about interior design....but, i know what i don't like.

Wow... that's just horrible. There is way too much going on in that house. I'd say goodbye to the pastels, the floor, the faux... where should I stop? Looks like it could be a gorgeous house if done right.

How long ago did they spend money to have that done? You have a huge job ahead of you. Are you redesiging the entire house or just those two areas?
