You actually lose calcium when you drink milk!

wow, contradictory opinions from cockdezl and animal B, both respectable vets

guess I'll have to do my own research!

Kiss My Ass

Milk is good for you. That's the bottom line. there have been hundreds of replicable studies done to show that milk is very healthy and is part of a well balanced diet. As long as it doesn't give you the shits...milk is good stuff.

"big andy----your on the button 100%..lets keep the secret between us..no one will listen..as a chiropratic nutritionist, I support all that you say....
the other day, a women came in my office after hearing one of my lectures 3 months prior...she said thank god , god put people like you on this earth,,I said why, "she said, after hearing what you said about milk and asthma, I stopped my son from drinking the 3 glasses he was drinking every morning..after 13 years of inhalers and pills,,,, his asmatha disappeared...2 weeks after he drank milk again to test the idea and was put into the hospital with difficulty breaTHing.......the reason is, the alpha protein in milk ....does not exist in human milk..our body responds the the forign protein by releasing histimines,,hence the problems....medicine is psuedo science....studies influenced by funding from pharma... companies....milk is bad...andy is on the balll...good job"

ANIMAL, this is not a secret, that milk exacerbates asthma, due to the effects it has on mucosal viscocity...HELL, even the idiot Dr's that I have dealt with know this. And if the woman's child is ALLERGIC to milk then by all means take him off of it, but your correlation is wrong. Simply because some are ALLERGIC to the proteins does not mean that it is bad for all. Do you think peanuts, corn, eggs, and all the other potential allergenic foods are BAD for everyone?
All food proteins are foreign, what food do you know of that produces human proteins?..and not one that is Genetically Modified.

ANIMAL, you are correct about one thing...you and ANDY should keep this secret to yourselves.

I second everything that cockdezl said plus what I wrote on the diet board. Again, pasteurized milk and raw milk have little nutritive value differences. They are not enough to make a fuss about. I don't want to rewrite everything I wrote on the diet board, or what cockdezl has wrote here, but I will add that the phosphatase enzyme that is deactivated in pasteurization and ULTRApasteurization help to distinguish whether or not the milk has been heated sufficiently enough to destroy pathogenic microorganisms. It also helps to distinguish it between unpasteurized milk (which potentially has the chance for unwanted organisms) if the two are mixed. As cockdezl pointed out, our bodies produce this enzyme so it doesn't really matter what happens to the milk in this regard. Heating any food will in some way or another change the nutritive value...would you suggest we not eat meats, eggs, vege's, or anything else??? Only 6% of the calcium is insoluble in milk after it has been pasteurized!!! 6% may be a big deal in your book but not mine. Also, milk in no way, shape or form prevents us from receiving calcium!!!

MR. H,
I'm no complete milk expert, but I know that Heavy Whipping Cream has NO carbs. This is the reason it is a good choice for meals within a ketogenic diet!!! It may or may not be homogenized, but it undergoes ULTRApasteurization so that the shelf life is extended for longer periods of time. If you take a look at most Heavy Whipping Creams, they will have a shelf life good for over a months time (don't know the exact time). One effect that it undergoes, due to ultrapasteurization, is that it has a diminished whipping ability. Basically, it is CREAM, which consists of extra fat droplets, depending on whether or not it has been homogenized.

I'm still laughing my ass off over the Twinkie and Cap' N Crunch thing. That was fucking funny as hell!!!
MR. BMJ
