My bet is that this Marine will be vindicated very soon, there is no way that this will hang around and cast doubts in the minds of his fellow Marines about how to do their jobs. exactly, these guys spouting out their bs on here have NEVER been in the situation that you guys are in day in and day out, they sit back in the comfort of their ez chairs and play arm chair quarterback, they have never been shot at, they havent ever had the threat of car bombs blowing them up, they have never had to deal with the death of one of their own by the hands of the enemy, i cant even imagine the stress you guys go through over there every day, look even i dont agree with why we went to war over there but how dare anyone judge this man who signed up to fight for my and everyone elses freedom, this man risks his life day in and day out over there for the united states and yet these jackasses are ready to hang him by his nuts for killing an enemy that was trying to kill him, this was not some poor innocent kid that the soldier shot this was a guy that was trying to kill one of our own, i know for a fact if i was in a room with someone that had tried to kill me or one of my own, wounded or not, im gonna cap that bastard right between his eyes, no way in hell im taking any chance of him getting another chance to kill me, this is war people like it or not support your troops and what they are doing over there

what bullshit. soldiers arent mushrooms, they know whats happening over there. any marine who actually believes that they are doing the 'right thing' over there is seriously warped, or plain stupid.

the marines invaded because their masters told them to. they should expect to be shot at. youre upset that a guy was trying to kill you and your buddies? well then what the fuck are you doing there in the first place, genius? you werent there to deliver flowers, you turned up after the shit had been bombed out of the city, hundreds if not thousands of people were callously splattered, holding an m-16, ready to kill anyone who looked at you funny.

This guy was trying to kill our troops.

These guys have used booby trapped bodies to kill our guys.

Just as this marine shot the fella who he believed was playing dead, a marine from his own unit was killed as he was caught by surprise by a booby trapped corpse.

Our marine thought this guy was doing the same thing, and took action.


You want more of our men to die? Hamper them like you're trying to do. Kind of defeats the notion (which was always false anyway) that you somehow 'care for our troops.'

That claim is only made when it suits your broader agenda to see this action fail, no matter what.

Imposing standards like the complaints about this event imply WILL result in more of our guys dying...but most opponents are willing to do it if it furthers their agenda.

You'd NEVER hear me get after our guys in war during say, Bosnia just because Clinton was in office.

Some here that are criticizing do not mean it in this way, but many do, and they should be fucking ashamed.

Shot in battle is one thing.
Shot like a dog on the floor is another thing all together.

not too much to imagine him holding a grenade to take a few with him before he went down if the opportunity presented itself
I don't actually think the executioner was acting so much in fear of this,but battlefield stress is about the highest order of stress possible
I can't understand why they are allowing embedded reporters myself
fine and dandy in the more conventional actions
but this anit-guerilla/insurgent warfare needs to be just between the combatants
note too the guy killed wasn't wearing combat fatiques either
he could snipe a couple of marines,discard his weapon,leave the "sacred" mosque and claim to be an innocent caught in harm's way
