Not all but a few probably did at some point in time. You can not say that a reasonable and sane person in situation a would not act in an insane fashion in situation b.

I know for myself if someone were to kill my wife and kids I would do everything it took to end their life and the lives of everyone they ever even liked. I know I would. It's just the way I am.
